"The breakfast was very good with many options! The bathroom had some pink bacteria/mold in most of the grout in the bathroom because there’s no ventilation in the bathroom so it stays moist. The view was amaaaazing though!
We didn’t use the pool because of its limited hours unfortunately though. We enjoyed having our own balcony though! There is on site parking which was also helpful. It’s nearby many restaurants and a beautiful view of a waterfall. A lot of the restaurants close early though....
"It's easily one of the most well decorated and beautiful hotels I've ever stayed at. Seriously designers should be given an award of some type it's incredible. However I had very mixed experiences with the restaurant staff and the design comes with some usability drawbacks. There a ton of little things that make the hotel less than ideal.
A non-exhaustive of examples:
- The makeup mirrors are mounted 6ft off the ground and cannot pivot downwards
- we stayed in an upgraded room that was located...
"Older hotel but in a great location in Funchal. Walkable area, shopping mall with grocery store within 2 minutes walking distance. Lots of restaurants nearby.
The rooftop pool was well maintained although we didn’t have time to use it, the rooftop views were great.
The breakfast buffet was good, although repetitive as all hotel breakfasts are.
Overall we enjoyed our stay at Hotel Madeira."
"Staff were very friendly! Entertainment and food were fabulous. Pool spotless, great to see the manager being there on the complex walking around observing. The bar staff and waiters/waitresses were charming and nothing too much for them.
With the facilities, we were disappointed on first day to have no aircon in our room, heard others had same problem with this. We were moved to different room same day but it meant we lost time unpacking and packing again. Overall the stay was so lovely...
