"Every thing was great! The room is smallish but comfortable. There is a balcony with a view but it’s only 2ft deep so really not possible to sit on it. The roof top deck is terrific and we enjoyed bkfst and a glass of wine later in the day out there. The staff is friendly and helpful. The only caution is that there is a short hill ( maybe .25 miles) leading to it. For some dragging a bag up it can be difficult. "

"The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming! It was lovely to drink coffee in the mornings on the balcony table with a small view toward the bay. Avalon as a whole is extraordinarily walkable which made it easy to just quickly come back to the hotel for anything."

"The hotel was clean, bright, comfortable, and conveniently located within 2-8 minutes walk to the beach, shopping, and food. The property seems quite old and has some quirks, but it is clean, quiet, and well maintained, with gorgeous smelling star jasmine bushes and succulents just outside the front porch, windows with stained glass over the stairs, and an open air porch on each upper floor with wicker chairs and a view of Avalon harbor. "This location has more space and I think has to be more relaxing than hotels right in Avalon. Continuous shuttle if you don’t want to walk. Staff is very friendly and helpful.Restaurant is separate entity from hotel and disappointing. Doesn’t open for breakfast until 8, and first morning the chef hadn’t showed up. Never went back. "

"If you like older historic accommodations that are rich in history, then you would enjoy this place. Big, tasty cookies waiting at check in and bottled water next to comfy beds, coffee and muffins were waiting in the dinning area for early birds before breakfast was served. Transportation available to get down the hill to a restaurant and beachside bar made things very convenient. I plan on staying again and sharing this experience with my friends and family."
