"We booked this place for the convenience of the location near the airport. Check in is supposed to be at 4pm. We had to contact the property directly multiple times to get the access code to the property and this was not given to us until after 5pm. When we arrived at the property we were able to use the codes given to us to get into the building. We made the trek up the 4 flights of stairs (no elevator) to the room we were told was ours. "Our door was left wide open by the cleaning staff. We then told the front desk and asked them to ensure the cleaning staff did not enter our room again. The next day we found them in our room and when we reported it to the front desk, they simply said that they would talk to the house keeping manager. We then found that house keeping poured sewage water on all of our clothing and bags. Everything is ruined. Never stay at this hotel! You are better off sleeping in a car. It was the worst...

"Our 10 days stay at Hotel do Chiado was absolutely wonderful. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warmth and professionalism.
The staff were always helpful and eager to help with any requests we had or when we asked for recommendations.
The hotel is clean, comfortable, well maintained, it has a beautiful roof top bar with panoramic views.
The location is perfect, in the middle of everything, shopping, dining.
We had a large and comfortable room on 7th floor with private terrace...

We were told by a staff member the hotel was the first convent founded in the city, hence, the name Convento do Salvador. This hotel is in a very narrow and steep cobblestone street. Some taxis and Uber drivers do not go down to the hotel to pick up passengers and it is necessary to go up to one of the main thoroughfares to get the Uber....
