"The hotel is above a pub. The room was fine and met expectations given the price. The location is a short walk to the center of town. There is a pay parking lot next to the pub. The pub is nice."

"I am normally pretty candid on reviewing cheap hotels, as I dont expect much for the price I pay. The room is fine, but there was a macerator coming on and off during the entire night that kept waking me up. Unbearable..."

"Good check in, good staff, lots of parking. Room was large and very nicely decorated, if a little warm (there was a fan but it was very very dirty and I had to dismantle it and clean it to get it to work properly). Room was let down by the bathroom - there was visibly peeling and missing paint around the top of the shower, and splash marks/spilled...something all up the walls behind the door and by the toilet. The seat on the toilet was also a soft padded one, which was a little odd....

"A good hotel, been here a few times now"

"This was a 3 night stay, with 11 other golfers, in the heart of Wantage, It is an old property in the town square. Rooms were small but adequate. Bathroom was well maintained and clean. (Nice towels). We dined there once and breakfasted three times. Food was good. Service was very professional and friendly. The bar was well stocked and lively whilst we were there. Only criticism was the hotel seemed very warm especially in the room. I had a fan and could open the window etc but it did not...

"Arrived on Sunday evening. Had been held up at an engagement but had a table booked during my journey for 20.45. Arrived at the pub/reception at 20.53 (booking line stated I had a 15 minute grace period). Told rather rudely that the kitchen had closed ages ago. I pointed out that I'd booked a table for 20.45 to which the reply was 'well it's now 20.53'. I stated that the booking said there was a 15 minute grace period and I had been stuck in traffic during my 2 hours drive, so couldn't help...

"Great place to stay and quiet. Meals were fantastic."

"Booked as we had an early flight from East Midlands airport. Owner met us soon after we arrived. Nice room, great comfy bed, very good shower. Advised there was a good restaurant just down the road (15 min walk) which we visited and had a very tasty meal. Left in the morning too early for breakfast, but not host’s fault. Very good nights sleep. Plenty of parking. Road to airport a bit narrow and windy, but we made it in plenty of time. Would recommend."

"The bed was not great. I will not return to this Marston's site. Experience was made worse as was pleased with the Blue Jay."
