Clean room. It had clearly been updated recently but there were a few things that hadn’t been updated that really stand out compared to what is new such as the dirty scratched doors and old hair dryer. The customer service however was very poor. The booklet in the room said we could ask for an outlet converter/adapter so we called to ask and they said they didn’t have anything like that and it was a stupid question. So our phones died and we were unable to communicate during the rest of our time in Togo because they did not fulfill what they offered. They also charged a tax per person once you get there that was unexpected.
The Sarakawa Hotel is the grand old lady of Lomé, she is well equipped and although she is beginning to show her age on the outside still offers a true yesteryear experience.
Built on a 25 hectare piece of land next to the ocean you can’t ask for more.
Olympic size swimming pool with adjacent bar and restaurant you can’t help but feel unencumbered by all the space available, so that even when the occupancy numbers are high, you still feel like you’re the only one there.
We were a family of 4 traveling for a family event and arrived on July 20 for a one week stay. We had two bungalows and both had molds. The staff at the front desk were very unprofessional and unfriendly. Only the staff at the two restaurants were courteous and friendly. Will not stay there again.
First error was booking through Hotels.com because they advertised a discount that doesn't exist, the hotel gave me a sub-standard room. The room service never left any drinking water saying it's not included in my booking. Really! The substandard room was below average.
Break fast is excellent. If you like doing sports in morning or evening there are great facilities. The hotel needs some investment
I had three separate reservations for my family of seven with confirmation numbers from Expedia. On arrival I was told they don't care about such confirmation numbers and spent almost two hours arguing with them before we were allowed to check-in. The staff were untrained and unprofessional. I would never stay there. We spent only three nights, even though we had paid online for four nights and decided to move to Hotel 2 Fevrier for the remainder of our stay in Lome.
