"We could only get wifi in the bar; no use of our phones in our room. The shower is a hand held in a big tub. Water pressure could be stronger. The hotel has a wonderful breakfast which was included. We also had a delicious dinner in their restaurant. Lovely views of the lake if you book a room on that side of the building."

"This is an older property so don’t expect “modern boutique” style accommodation. The room was clean with nice sea view and the bed comfortable. The room was a bit warm (though that was when Scotland was having a bit of a heatwave - so probably not a common problem!). We had dinner in the Restaraunt and it was excellent. The final part of the road to Crinan is quite narrow which, while it adds to the anticipation, could be challenging if you are unlucky to meet a lot of cars on the single...

"What a treat to stay at this hotel! Sitting in the indoor hot tub with the views across the loch was magical and something I won’t forget. The spa was immaculate and a real treat after a long day of driving. Rooms were beautifully decorated, staff were friendly, and it is a very dog friendly hotel. 10/10"

"This hotel has no person on site. There is a lock box and you will get an email with instructions. I had to phone when I did not get an email ( probably because of a new email address); House was very quiet. Our room was beautiful and spacious with a lake view. But the bathroom trash was not emptied from previous guests and there was a used sanitary napkin there. Also the blanket in the closet was in a jumble making me think it had been used but not cleaned or folded. It made me uncomfortable...

"Beautiful historic hotel with great food and rooms. The only drawback is there is no elevator, so plan for that if you need one."

"They don’t do a 4 person family room, despite it being advertised on Expedia. No solution was offered and our son has to sleep on the floor. Evening food and breakfast was nice."

"Lovely views of Loch Awe. The driver wasn’t so happy about the long single track road but the other two enjoyed the solitude and quiet at the end of the road. Rooms are comfortable and all different."
