A Clean Friendly Place to Overnight

This hostel was closed until further notice. We were sent over to one called Ad Hoc right in the centre of Old Ljubljana. We enjoyed our one night stay and the sites around the town and the terrific view of the castle.

Nice hostel near the city of Ljubljana

Stayed in Hostel Celica for 2 nights. We made a reservation for a cell for 2 persons. Rooms are clean, bathroom/toilets are clean. Breakfast is simple but ok.

宿泊そのものが土産話になりそうです。

リュブリャナ鉄道駅・バスターミナルから徒歩7～8分。付近は博物館や芸術村のような雰囲気の一角にあり、夜にもぽつぽつと見物客が通っていました。宿はかつて監獄等に使われた建物で、内装外装ともきれいに改修されていましたが、部屋の入口はあえてその風情を残しているらしく、鉄格子との二重扉になっていました。共同の洗面所・シャワールームも問題なく使えました。併設のカフェでの夕食ビュッフェ、財布にやさしくお腹いっぱいになれました。

컨셉이 특이해서 한번쯤은 묵어볼만합니다.주변 호텔에 비해 저렴합니다.다만 방에 따라 침대가 옷장 위 2층에 있을수 있습니다. 올라갈때 힘듦.게스트 부엌에서 간단한 요리가 가능합니다.공동 샤워실과 화장실이 그다지 청결하지 않습니다.

Disappointed

Great area to be in Metelkova for the weekend. Unfortunately the room was tiny and dirty. Sink was broken, and smashed. The shower was broken, it was no longer attached to the wall so you had to hold it the entire time, meaning water got everywhere. With no extra towels or bath mat to stop this. I understand it's a hostel but you still expect maintenance and repairs to be done. The kitchen was also closed when we went on the Friday night and they didn't have the cocktails available that we wanted on their "cocktail night". For a hostel there was no buzz or atmosphere in the common areas. Just dirty and boring. We checked out after 1 night for a 2 night stay.

Funky awesome

Great hostel. Staff was pro. Food was great. They had a band and talk the night i was there. Super interesting history. Off beat location. Loved it. The only real negative .. and it was a biggie was there was no air conditioning and it was hot when i was there. Like i was sleeping in a small sauna. Stay in winter!

Extremely uncomfortable

This is the most uncomfortable place I have ever stayed. It is literally more like a penitentiary than a place people would pay to stay. I had a private room with two beds. The bunk beds are difficult and dangerous to climb into; the steps are basically 1-inch diameter dowels. Very painful on the feet and dangerous in the dark. The mattresses are only about as wide as an adult male's shoulders, and they are only a few inches thick and seem to have years of use on them. The chair and table provided are hard, flat wood cubes, with the table only a couple of inches higher than the chair. In order to actually use them, you have to put a pillow on the chair and put your suitcase atop the table, so you can put your laptop on it. The neighborhood is loud at night, and you can't shut the window for long because there's no other ventilation. There seems to be some sort of beer garden next door. The conversation from there is very loud, then you get loud (inebriated, probably) people yelling under your window until late into the night. Also, there's no seal around the door, and the hallway is very echoey, and guests talk loudly in it even at 2 am. Even in the hangout areas on the ground floor, the accommodations are uncomfortable. The neighborhood is convenient to the bus and train stations and to the city center, but covered in graffiti. The staff was nice, but that's the only thing I liked about this place.

Sleep in Jail!

Its too expensive for what they really offered. You pay only for a backpacker and pay for the "experience". The personal and breakfast are OK.

Originell, aber sehr zweckmäßig

Freiwillig einige Nächte im ehemaligen Gefängnis: nur eine Steckdose im Zimmer und Blümchenkaffee zum Frühstück. Der Rest war überraschend solide, sauber, das Personal motiviert. An der Theke bekam ich einen kräftigen Cappuccino und der Tag war gerettet. Kurze Wege ins Stadtzentrum, zu Bus und Bahn - und am Abend ein Ethno-Konzert im Haus. Es war ein Erlebnis der besonderen Art.

La ubicación es buena, muy cerca a la estación de tren y a unos 8 min del centro. El staff muy bueno y la vibra A1. La habitación no es la mas cómoda, pero es un detalle menor, me quedaría nuevamente de todas maneras.

Coup de coeur.

Auberge extra original ! La dame a la réception nous a acceulli avec une extrême gentillesse. Elle nous a très bien tout expliqué et nous a suggéré un tour de la ville gratuit, ce que nous avons fait (je le recommande). Nous avons ensuite decouvert notre cellule (chambre), un joli ptit nid douillet orné d'une porte de cellule de prison à l'entrée :) Endroit très propre et très artistique. Beaucoup de musiciens sillonnent les locaux et petites terrasse de la place. Seul bémol, le petit déjeuner (supplément 4€ /personne, ce qui nous fait 6$ canadien) était supposé être servi jusqu'à 10h30. Nous sommes arrivé à 10h10 et il ne restai plus grand chose. Plus de café, de jus d'orange et d'oeuf. Il ne restait que du pain, confiture, fromage en tranche et du jus bizzard. J'ai demander à la dame au bar pour des oeufs et elle m'as répondu que le déjeuner était terminé. J'ai du m'obstiner un peu et elle nous a fait faire des oeufs brouillé pour 2 finalement. Mais sinon nous avons trouvé cet auberge vraiment bien et sa situation géographique est idéal.

Elämys!

Mahtava paikka! Sellimajoitus oli elämys, huone pieni, mutta nukkumiseen riittävä. Siisti, henkilökunta erittäin avuliasta ja pub mukava ja suhteellisen edullinen. Alue graffiteineen ja taiteineen mielenkiintoinen, joskin hieman meluisa. Aamupala perus; kahvi + leipä + murot, mutta kyllä sillä päivän käyntiin sai.

Great location next to the train station

Staff was great and free luggage storage. A bit pricey for a hostel but it being an old prison is a novelty.

Kult hostel

Kult hostel. Bra mat, vennlig personale, kul atmosfære. Ekstra spennende at det var et ombygd fengsel, interessant historie. Bra beliggenhet med umiddelbar nærhet til togstasjonen.
