After checking in, I went to a nearby restaurant for dinner. Was alerted to the boil order going on in the city, and looked it up later on the city's FB page. I screenshot the info, and showed it to the woman at the front desk. I asked her if she wanted to take a picture of this to alert the owners, and she asked if I would email it to the owners, which I did. The hotel DID NOT notify guests until Saturday morning (my notification to them was on Thursday night) and guests would need to read a lengthy article about the boil order, while the drinking fountains, etc, were not taped off. No bottled water was offered to us.
The outside doors did not lock automatically when we went through them, or did the room doors. Each needed to be firmly shut. The door to the pool area did not lock. The jacuzzi water was cold, which I think is an ongoing problem.
Due to making reservations with different places, I had to go to the front desk and "check out", and get a new room key after each of three nights. On the 2nd morning, I was called and they demanded that I check out as they were booked. When I said that I had booked the room with Expedia months earlier, and would be happy to show them the email, they said that someone had just cancelled a reservation and I could stay there. When I went to the desk, there were no apologies.
The room was clean, but the dark shades to close at night were worn, and the lights from the parking lot shown through. Will never stay at a Windham again
