An agricultural, rural and artisan region, Limousin offers a rich range of activities for a weekend or an extended holiday in one of its three departments – Creuse, Corrèze and Haute-Vienne – where nature has been protected and towns and villages have a strong personality.
Known throughout the entire world for its Limoges porcelain, Limousin combines culture, architecture and heritage with its castles (Boussac, Pompadour), its Romanesque churches (Aubazine, Solignac) on the pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela, and its contemporary museums (Porcelain and Fine Arts in Limoges, Centre de la Mémoire in Oradour-sur-Glane). You can also hike to the highest point of the region, Mount Bessou, or in the valleys of the Dordogne, Creuse, Vienne and Vézère, as well as in the Causse Corrézien and the Plateau of Millevaches.
