Highly recommended hotel in Thüringen

Hotel Gasthof Garkueche is a beatiful and hospital place that takes you back in time. Lots of history in this well maintained and clean, pleasant hotel. The owners have eyes and ears for the wishes of their cliënts. A great place with very tastfull food, lots of posibilities to go for walks or explore Thüringen

Vorab, wir hatten die Unterkunft bei ebookers zu einen sehr günstigen Preis gebucht. Das hat uns die Gastgeberin auch spüren lassen. Unsere Begrüßung bestand nicht aus einem netten "Guten Tag" sondern aus den Worten "Auf sie hab ich schon gewartet. Wie haben Sie das denn gemacht? So günstig hat hier noch niemand übernachtet!" Das Zimmer was wir dann bekamen war im obersten Stock unterm Dach. Das letzte Zimmer, obwohl das Hotel nicht ausgebucht war. Dieses war anscheinend das abgewohnteste und unschönste Zimmer. Das Bett war gerahmt, so daß es für einen großen Mann nicht unbedingt schön war darin zu schlafen. Fernseher befand sich in einer kleinen Nische und war vom eigentlichen Zimmer nicht unbedingt einsehbar. Die Krönung von allem war allerdings das Frühstücksbuffet. Auf dem Tisch befanden sich abgezahlte Brötchen - für jeden 2. Wenn die alle waren dürfte man sich am harten Brot am Buffet bedienen. Auch der Rest war sehr dürftig, kein Tee, Kaffee eine Kanne für den ganzen Saal ebenso der Saft, auffüllen dauerte wenn es überhaupt passierte. Das Obst war auch alles andere als ansehnlich sondern eher schon etwas älter. Die Gastgeberin stand auch meist in der Tür um zu genau zu schauen wer was und wieviel nimmt, der Gesichtsausdruck ihrerseits ließ einen keine Gastfreundschaft verspüren. Auch das Gastgeschenk, eine Schieferplatte, was man bekommt wenn man 3 Nächte dort bleibt - eine tolle Sache - gab es für uns nicht. Hotellerie geht eindeutig anders, auch fürs "Schnäppchen".

Leutenberg - Übernachten in der Garküche

Ich liebe den Titel. In der Küche übernachtet man natürlich nicht, es gibt dort schon Zimmer wo man gut übernachten kann. Nur die Matratzen waren in unserem Zimmer recht hart. Das Hotel liegt im Ortskern, aber es gibt ausreichend Parkplätze an der Strasse oder auf dem Marktplatz. Am besten fanden wir das Essen. Es gibt sehr wohlschmeckende lokale Gerichte zu fairen Preisen. Auch das im Preis enthaltende Frühstück am nächsten Morgen war sehr gut. Wir haben es als "Durchgangsreisehotel" für eine Nacht besucht und würden es auch wieder tun.

Historisches Hotel mitten in der Altstadt gelegen

Traditionelles 3 Sterne Hotel ohne schickimicki mitten in der Leutenberger Altstadt. Mein Zimmer war sauber und mit allem notwendigem ausgestattet. Separates kleines Bad mit WC, Waschbecken und Dusche. Gutes Wlan und FlachTV vorhanden. Die Betten waren sehr angenehm, nicht so hart. Das Abendessen war gut - sehr gut (Roulade mit Thüringer Klößen + Hefe Weizen 15,-€). Frühstück war auch OK alles was man braucht, besonderes hervorzuheben der Kaffee und die guten Brötchen (nicht das aufgebackene Krümelzeug was es oft sonst gibt). Ich habe mich sehr wohlgefühlt und komme auch gerne wieder.
