Complete Rip Off!
An absolutely horrible experience! My family (2 adults and my 6 year old son) had reserved this so-called hotel for $284 in June for a 13th Aug stay. After a full day at the Berkshires, we checked-in at 6 pm. This place is in a terrible location (unpaved roads, still-in construction steps). To our horror we found that the room had No Air-Conditioning. It was 90 degrees outside and all they had in the room was a ceiling fan. There were bugs in the room due to the heat. On top of it all the bathroom was in a terrible condition (with built in plywood in the place of a shower). After staying for 30 minutes we decided there was no way we can get a good night sleep in this place. The owner Josie had conveniently gone out for a pizza. Since it was peak season, all hotels in the area were completely booked and prohibitively expensive. So heartbroken we started to make our way (3 hours) trip back to Boston. I spoke to Josie and explained to her patiently the entire situation and specific reasons. This is where it get's worse. Instead of apologizing she started arguing stating reasons that it is not that hot inside the rooms. After ruining our entire weekend, the least she could have offered was a refund back. Instead it was a rude conversation on how we as guests should have adjusted to the temperature. This place is complete Rip Off and built to take advantage of the steep hotel prices in the Berkshires. Please do yourself a favor and choose a different location for your stay.

This property should be condemned!
You should be aware that Chestnut Lodge “Hotel” on 75 Chestnut Street, Lee, MA, is so far below my minimum standards that my wife and I rented a motel room rather than stay at this location. The pictures advertised on your website are very deceiving. The property should be condemned. Needless to say I had already paid $284.84 for this abomination. Their advertising mentioned suites, spa amenities, etc., which were a disaster. The shower looked like it was brought in from an outdoor shower that was used and was simply a tiny space framed with old sheet metal. The light bulbs were maximum 20 watts, making it impossible to read. The light over the bed had no switch to turn on. The street itself was half paved and very unappealing. In fact, I had to contact six local residents before I could locate it. I would rate this minus 5 stars.
