Best stay in France

Lovely homely hotel. Nicholas and his sister were very helpful, and always available. Breakfast was particularly good. We also loved the pool table, table tennis, table football and o& course the pool.

This chateau is nothing short of fabulous. The owner, Phillipe, is gracious and generous. The chateau itself is gorgeous and close to the small town of Evreux. I recommend going kayaking on the Eure river. It all makes for a relaxing respite from the bustling, overwhelm of Paris. Only one hour away by train, this place is absolutely a gem. I can't say enough about how great of an experience it was.

Quite a unique and impressive looking hotel - a genuine French Chateau with interesting history. This old property obviously therefore comes with its 'shabby chic' quirks. The toilet was in a separate room in the bathroom which was literally the size of the toilet! The hotel offers breakfast but no other mealtimes, so you do need to leave the grounds (drive) to find somewhere to eat in the evening. The local town where there are a couple of restaurants feels out of kilter with the hotel as the town seems quite modern - almost american in style. The chateau is in lovely grounds and has a covered heated swimming pool which was a great amenity to have.

Love this Chateau!

A hidden gem. Beautiful Chateau in stunning grounds, I had two wonderful woodland walks accompanied by friendly resident huskies. It snowed while I was there and scenes were magical, with deer running through the extensive woodland! The host, Philippine, is extremely welcoming and brings a real personal touch to the stay. The property dates from around 17th century so don't expect high tech amenities - although my room did feature a jacuzzi bath - but everything is on hand to make the stay more than comfortable. With charming antique furniture and cozy beds, if you are looking for a relaxing getaway in a beautiful, country setting and fantastic service, this property delivers exactly that!

The chateau was fantastic and the hosts couldn't have been nicer. The owner gave us a half hour history of the place and it is quite a story. You will love this place, our stay felt like a fairy tale.

Great place. Friendly and nice.

What a superb place to stay. Really amazing first time in a chateu. Owner was very friendly and accomodating. Bring your own food place. Wasnt sure that was the case before i arrived.

Tout était exceptionnel. Un propriétaire charmant et familial de Philippe, qui prends soin de ses invités du début à la fin. Un lieu incroyable, chargé d’histoires que Philippe vous raconteras. Une multitude de choses à faire: promenade dans le parc et observation des biches, tennis, piscine, barbecue, billard, etc. Bref vous n’allez pas vous ennuyer! Séjour à renouveler !

Aangereden via de lange oprit wacht jou een oase van rust, luxe en charme. Philippe is de warmste gastheer die we ooit ontmoetten. Met veel flair en plezier geeft hij jou een korte maar trotse uitleg over het kasteel van Lodewijk XIV. Elke kamer mag je gebruiken tijdens jouw verblijf. Philippe heeft een flair over zich waardoor je meteen in vakantiesfeer komt. Het feit dat de hertjes om je heen lopen wanneer je in het 30gr verwarmd zwembad vertoeft, versterkt dat gevoel. Wonderful castle

Philippe is a wonderful host. His castle is amazing and very beautiful. I spent some time in the living room and the park which are very nice Philippe est un super hôte très chaleureux. C’est un vrai plaisir d’échanger avec lui. Il a rénové ce magnifique château avec goût.
