"It is a magnificent property with great facilities. Well located enough. But Plattenberg is a plain soulless residential seaside town. No quality in terms of restaurants. The property is closed to shops, cafés and beach (if you don’t mind the very steep hike back). "

The only disappointment we had was the pool which is very small and in a public area without guest lounging space so we felt uncomfortable to use it. "Kleines feines Hotel in erhöhter Lage auf dem Felsen in der Mitte zwischen den beiden Hauptstränden. Das Hotel ist hübsch, hat insgesamt nur 37 Zimmer auf 2 Gebäude (plus 2 kleinen Cottages) verteilt. Die Einrichtung ist relativ schlicht und mutet mit seinen vielen Blautönen schon fast nordisch an. Eleganz mit Understatement. Dazu ein nettes, ebenfalls schlicht gehaltenes Restaurant mit Aussenterrasse am Pool, gutes Dinner, fantastisches Frühstück. Minus: Die Zimmertür bot weder Licht- noch...

"The Junction is a nice place to stay in Plett. The beds are comfortable, there is Aircon and the style is modern and new. The rooms are not very bright, so not the best place to hang in the day, but absolutely perfect as a nightly base, especially with the block-out curtains. The location is excellent right in the middle of town so you can walk anywhere. Right by Seakrit Spot and Market off Main which is very convenient. I’d stay here again for a short stay of a few nights. "

"In general the hotel is very run down. Things falling apart and dysfunctional, including pool area and umbrellas and gardens. The resort is in desperate need of serious maintenance. Also, no wi fi in rooms for a 4 star hotel is not really acceptable. Poor conditions somewhat compensated for by the first class and much appreciated service from Petrus and some of his staff -especially chef and Thabisa."
