In 1944, James arrives in Mexico with the idea of ​​"putting a Garden of Eden" in that country. Accompanied by Roland McKenzie and Plutarco Gastelum, choose a field on the edge of the Santa Maria River in Xilitla, on top of the Sierra Huasteca northeastern Mexico. He settled there and, with the help of huastecos workers, built a surreal garden.
