"The A/C and drinks machine worked, as did the iron, and kettle. The balcony was useful, and the bed was comfortable. The gym was small, but all we needed, and breakfast was tasty and plentiful. Our laundry was cleaned and returned the following day. The WIFI worked, and there was free parking nearby. The hotel is off the beaten track and a short walk to amenities.
The patio door was not soundproof and we heard chatter from the bar/restaurant below, plus, the incessant dogs barking every morning. The fridge froze our products, and both bedside lights did not work. The shower would run hot or cold mid-shower. The pillows were like marshmallow.
One morning we were woken early by aggressive tapping of a key card on one of the doors, which we assume was housekeeping. The roof-top pool was very small. One female guest was swimming, and neither my husband or I would have felt comfortable in such close proximity. Although an adults-only hotel, we heard children shouting in the restaurant/bar area.
We noted that the property is listed as eco-certified, and placed the sign on our pillow every day to prevent excessive washing of linen. However, we were dismayed when told that there is no dedicated recycling and that everything gets put in the trash.
Although these several niggles may seem fairly insignificant, when added up over a ten-day period, it took the gloss off what was, otherwise, a good hotel with friendly, helpful, staff, which was clean, with good food and ambiance."
