Me and my wife spent 1 night in a top floor room and we loved it. If you can afford it, 2 nights is ideal to take advantage of the area and the facilities. Clearly, a lot of thought has gone into creating this accommodation - it is luxurious, cleverly designed and decorated, and relaxing. It's a remote area, but there are books and games available, easy walks nearby, and plenty of places to sit and enjoy the view. It's a bit disappointing not to have wifi, and we didn't have phone service either (reception is usually good but there were problems with the Optus network, not Pumphouse's fault) but it is the sort of place where the experience is enhanced by the lack of distractions. The room has a lovely view of the lake, the kitchen is cleverly hidden and very well equipped, the bathroom has under-tile heating and the bed is amazingly comfortable. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and we appreciated the buggy rides to/from the pumphouse in the cold wind and rain. The breakfast was really nice, but we thought the dinner, while good, didn't justify $50pp - although if you like dinner parties (unlike us) then the jovial atmosphere might make it worth it.
