Loved the beach.are door lock did not work, could have been cleaner all the dishes were dirty. Beach chairs not out need up to date picture of what the grounds look like. I would go again bringing my own cleaning supplies and dishes. The beach is what would bring be back.
The worst most disgusting place I have ever stayed.
So many bugs my son work up with bugs all over him in bed. The counters were nasty, the bath tub was filthy and floors still had sand all over them.
I called Expedia after the first night and asked for a refund and to get out of the rest of my booking and they said no. My family slept outside the second night. I am terrified we brought home bugs with us.
Honestly the worst experience of my life. I have travelled a lot and stayed at a lot of good and not so good places but this takes the cake. I’m chocked with Expedia and this hotel.
Nasty.
Wonderful spot to relax and spend by the lake. Beach is not crowded and the cabins are in a horseshoe facing the water. Great for kids! The past reviews mention the smell of the cabins. I did not experience this only when you showered the smell of well water was present.
It’s not the Hilton but it is great. Right on the lake, staffed by friendly and helpful people. Two years running and we are sure to come back. Cabins are clean and comfortable, kids had a super time on the beach and in the water. They even have a kayak and paddle boards tor free use.
DON'T BOOK THIS PLACE EVEN IF IT'S FREE!! WORST POSSIBLE EXPERIENCE WE EVER HAD. STINKY ROOM, WATER FULL OF SULPHUR SMELL, TOILETS OVERFLOWING. PATHETIC CONDITIONS. SLEEP IN YOUR CAR RATHER THAN AT THIS PLACE. EXPEDIA PEOPLE REMOVE IT FROM YOUR SITE SO OTHER'S CAN BE SAVED.

Disliked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Was on the beach, but that’s all you will like about it
The room was not clean. The sofa bed was disgusting. Items for the kitchen were very few. No plates, bowls only. Literally had to clean was all the utensils because they were so dirty. There were spider webs in the bathroom lights. Opened the bathroom window and the biggest spider web was in the window.
it's family friendly please the owners are so friendly and helpful the most i like is you fill home and welcome you don't fill lonley , the beach bbq and be friends with everyone staying there, get new friends i Love it definitely going back
The property was extremely scenic and Fun for the entire family;Kids in particular had alot of fun.Fishing ! Trampoline ! Swings! Beach Volley ball.Lots of privacy.Adults enjoyed the BBQ and all the water fun like kayak. The rooms was very decent and the owner Dave put up an extra bed to make all 6 of us extremely comfortable. We asked fro extra sheets and Pillows and we got them. One small suggestion to guest is to take one small table fan for one of the room in Summer. Also take 24 pack bottled water from Walmart. The kitchen is fully equipped.I would highly recommend this resort to large family of more than 4 or even young couples.
Not satisfied as alot of things were broken and un clean. Noone at the front desk and just wasnt what I expected...

Great location. Empty beachfront with dock. Lounge chairs for sunbathing. Because of recent renos, things in the room were unfinished. But the owner was very obliging and attentive. We loved the laid back atmosphere and ambiance of the place

Not a 5 star hotel... not a hotel at all.
We want to go back every year!
I read all of the reviews before we went. The rooms were as expected. The bathrooms needed some work and some screens were broken or missing. Our bed wasn’t very comfortable but my husband and I are big people. My 70 year old mom and 16 year old daughter slept fine on their single beds. The kitchen had basics and we brought what we needed. Including a can opener and dish soap and tea towels. (And due to previous reviews, I brought my broom which helps because you are ALWAYS tracking sand through the room)
We were provided with clean linens and a huge supply of towels.
During our stay, the city had a warning posted about the water as there is construction in the lot next to the property. The motel supplied you with 18L water jugs as you need.
This reminded me of cabin camping I did as a child and my husband and I are thinking about coming back every year.
This is not the Hilton, if you want the Hilton, keep driving, go to the Hilton. If you want to sit in a hotel room, shame on you.
If you don’t care about the room because you are watching your kids play at the beach or watching them learn to paddle board or kayak on the PROVIDED paddle boards or kayaks. Or cooking s’mores or hot dogs on the fire pit. Or if you would prefer to sit under a massive maple tree right outside your door... then this place is the gem you are looking for!! I almost don’t want to tell you because then I can keep it to myself.
CONS:
So gross. Water reeks like sulphur and the owner told us it's no big deal. Kitchen wasn't cleaned upon arrival - crusty goop in fridge, crumbs in cupboards, crumbs and black hair in cutlery drawer. Bathroom tiles were filthy (and I don't mean from the sulphur stains). When we arrived an unmade mattress was just laying in the living room. When we went to check in at 1730 the office was closed due to a family function but luckily they hadn't left yet, otherwise who knows when we could've got keys (in retrospect we should've just left then!) Other little annoyances like: no TV remote, then when we got a remote it only 1/2 worked, no garbage bags for kitchen, no dish soap, no bar soap (these were all things that were supposed to be there), can opener didn't work, had to hunt someone down-yet again-to get wifi password then the wifi had crappy connection. The woman who helped us the most was somebody who lived in a trailer nearby and they ended up partying all night so we woke up to some guy passed out on the lawn. For $220/night, definitely go somewhere else!! They 'allowed' us to check out early but weren't happy about it.
PROS:
Bedrooms and linens were clean.
The beach and dock are nice, and they provide kayaks.

Family fun on a budget
Great budget hotel. The private beach and activities and location are what you go for. Close to the kangaroo zoo which is delightful. Kitchenettes are good as well. Keep in mind you may have to supply your own coffee filters, salt and pepper, pancake flipper. Only general plates and cutlery, a few knives and pots are in the rooms. Bring your own shampoo none is supplied. The bedroom arrangement is perfect for a larger family with 2 bedrooms. Also the pull out couch. Wifi connection is better than most hotels. Cleanliness is ok. Some walls were a bit dirty and cupboards. Towels were lovely, smelled clean and fresh. Beds were very clean. We will go back because it is very functional with the kitchen and number of beds. The outside environment was awesome. The beach, bbq pit, covered picnic area, plum tree, the kayaks, paddle boards, basketball hoop and beach volleyball make for the perfect family beach getaway. Owners are very lovely, feels like a family environment and makes up for any lack. If you are looking for an upscale or posh time don’t come here. This is for fun, function and is a good budget holiday.
This property is filthy. Quite disgusting actually. Rundown. Neglected. The floors were filthy, the oven had spaghetti sauce spattered all over it. Back “balcony” was a piece of plywood covered in spider webs and debris. I’m told to only swim near the dock because the creek has fecal matter in it. And worse of all, the owner doesn’t care! When I addressed my concerns he was belligerent and arrogant. Offered me a $20 discount for having to clean the room ourselves until I mentioned the BC Health Authority and then rescinded rhe offer. He has other multi million dollar properties.
