"we arrived after a 9-hour drive expecting to check in at 4:00 pm, but the front desk agent, almost laughing about it, told us they were still waiting for housekeeping to prepare our room. it wasn’t ready until 5:30 pm, and we had plans scheduled just 30 minutes later there were also several other issues: the room didn’t have a proper mirror besides a very small one in the bathroom, and we were given the wrong door code. after returning later, we couldn’t get back into our room because of it
unfortunately, based on our experience, i can’t really recommend this hotel"
"Everything about the property is excellent. In addition to the conventional ròoms available for booking, a KOA campground is part of the overall operation. Be aware that your arrival time must be conveyed to ensure someone is available to receive you upon arrival. Also, be aware that some cell phone carriers do not cover the immediate spot. T-Mobile could not be used. Fortunately, we had another phone with a different carrier and were OK. WI-FI IS VERY GOOD. STAFF COULD BE MORE CONGENIAL."
"The place is amazing. Spectacular scenery, location, glamping yurt, and staff. I'd definitely recommend it.
That said: the info on the website, and via the hotels.com confirmation process, was inadequate, leaving me with great uncertainty about how to get into the yurt for my after dark arrival. That caused a great deal of undue cost/stress (long story) so just be sure to get directions on how to enter your yurt a good couple of days in advance for safe keeping."
"I think it’s a great quaint motel right before you hit the busy zones of Tahoe and right outside Tahoe Valley campground. The property is family owned and very well maintained. The room is clean and nice and has all the basics you need. I really loved the lighted bathroom mirrors. Parking was plenty plus easy to park a truck. You do go to another hotel Apex also owned by them a couple bldgs down to check in but it was easy. Don’t come expecting a 4 star then be mad you don’t get it. Because it’s not and they don’t claim to be but what you do get is nice simple meet your needs and a little more very clean and safe motel for a great savings. I love carpet in my rooms which this had and I loved and all the space in the room for our bags or bikes even. You can tell they’ve really put ALOT of effort into making this nice.
If you’re not into hard very firm spring beds and firm pillows well then, being some extra like I do. There are Great little places nearby to eat and walk to or bring your bikes. Or head to nearby trails for a nice hike to Truckee river. I really like the owners and staff they went above and beyond to make our stay welcome from beginning to end. If they did even once a year upgrade a room mattress at a time to a memory foam mattress they’d be my perfect secret spot to stay!! But if you love an old fashion spring firm one you’re set now :) thank you for hosting look forward to future visits!"
"Lovely place. We last stayed there 18 years ago, and it has since had a nice remodel. The BBQ area in the back was lovely and roughly half of the residents were enjoying it in the evenings. They have some games a few different seating areas, two fires pits and corn hole. The woman who runs the place is great and her dog, Bear, is adorable."
