"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Gilvenbank Hotel and would highly recommend it. There are plenty of well lit parking spaces and it is lovely and quiet. The staff are so friendly, helpful and very cheery, including the house cleaners, waitresses, receptionists and bar staff. We stayed in room 4 on the upper floor and loved it as it's very spacious, clean and has a comfy bed. Our breakfasts and meals at night were so tasty and we loved the large portions. "The property itself was a lovely upstairs room, generous in size and very close to the rail station with a direct line to Edinburgh. We had a two night stay and found the bed to be very comfortable. A generous soak bath tub is in the main bedroom. Little snacks were a pleasant gift. Small issues were disappointing.On arrival there was no soap in the container and We were disappointed that despite asking for the room to be serviced, the soap was not replenished, toilet paper not replenished and...

"Despite such low price, my room is clean and spacious. Staff are freindly, helpful. There are two showers and tolits on my floor, never felt I had to wait. Downstairs there is a kitchen but a small one. Thr whole building is smell free. "
