"If you want to take a step off the beaten track in Japan this is a very good option. The hotel is situated in a very good place to explore the Kyoto on Sea area (this is not Kyoto city). The Hotel will send a minibus at certain times of day to pick new visitors up from the railway station. The hotels offers visitors free bike hire for 4 hours and is relatively close to the bus route for exploring other parts of the area. As this is not a city you are limited in the immediate area for places...

"Une pause incroyable : vue mer depuis la chambre, bains chauds privés où l’on peut se relaxer en famille, repas exceptionnels. On a en plus deux espaces pour se relaxer et grignoter. Personnel d’une gentillesse parfaite, toujours aux petits soins. Si vous passez dans la région, c’est un endroit où séjourner sans hésitation !"

"The rooms have better and more accommodations than most ,"luxury" and "elite" suites ive been in. The location in my opinion is great. The town nearby is walkable and its easy to catch the bus."

It's close to the town, which has good izakaya and other options if you're not on a meal plan. There is also a Lawson close-by. "a bit far from the station but with provided shuttle service to and from the hotel it was worth it. The seaside view was wonderful. I wanted to stare at ot for days. Breakfast buffet had plenty of option and the dining hall was spacious. they also provided a drink bar at night. Indoor and outdoor hot springs. Would definitely stay again."

On weekdays especially the hotel is an active construction site inside and out. It probably isn't what the workers want, to have to share a construction site with guests. It also felt a bit odd as a guest e.g. the workers congregate/socialise/smoke in a space inside the hotel entrance. I realise they are trying hard to improve the hotel, and the hotel staff were courteous and helpful at all times. The state of construction is reflected in the price, which is cheaper than nearby options. I read about the construction in advance from Japanese language reviews on other sites, so it wasn't a complete surprise."
