I’m disappointed to say that my experience at this homestay in Kuala Lumpur did not meet expectations, especially when it came to communication.
While the unit itself was generally decent, the amenities left a lot to be desired. I had booked the stay for six nights, but there were not enough basic amenities provided for that duration—items like towels and soaps were insufficient, and there was no proactive communication to check if we needed replenishments or cleaning during the stay. The towels that were provided were also very worn out and appeared patched and damaged, which gave an overall impression of poor upkeep.
Cleanliness was another concern. The unit was not as well-maintained as expected, with visible mould on the bathroom floor and along the lower parts of the walls.
The biggest issue, however, was the lack of communication from the host or property management. The air conditioner in the main bedroom was leaking, and despite multiple messages and attempts to call, I received no response at all. This left me with no choice but to sleep without air conditioning on my last night, which was extremely uncomfortable given Kuala Lumpur’s hot weather.
Overall, while the unit had potential, the poor maintenance and especially the unresponsive communication made this a frustrating and disappointing stay.
