"Everything was excellent!"

"Check in was wonderful and the staff was friendly and efficient. The room was clean with no odours or lingering scents. Pool was a lot of fun for the kids and the hot tub was great for the adults. The breakfast was fantastic! Everything that was Gluten free was labelled - and they made the eggs and sausage GF - which rarely happens at other hotels. Will definitely look for Best Western first for future travels."

"We stayed with our two kids for a staycation weekend in the city. We were very pleasantly surprised by the Birchwood. It is well maintained, and the staff are very friendly. Free parking was nice. There are restaurants within walking distance. Close to Assiniboine Park. Comfy beds, spacious rooms, nice bathrooms, mini fridge, Keurig. But the best part was the pool area. "Unfortunately, the first and only time I ate in the restaurant for breakfast, I was incredibly ill. I got the wrong meal to start. The "breakfast potatoes" were raw. I tried eating a few of the smaller pieces but it caused such bad gastro symptoms, I lost an entire day of my trip because I was too sick to leave my room. "Fantastic hotel, excellent for quick airport access. Rooms are modern, comfortable and have amazing beds. Best of all, the restaurant menu is amazing and the quality of the food is worldclass. Staff very helpful and friendly."

"The room was well equipped with a mini fridge and microwave. I wish they had another mirror somewhere on the wall of the room so that one person can get ready( such as doing hair and make up) when the other person is in the bathroom. The hotel is undergoing renovations till August, but didn't affect us much. The pool was closed due to unexpected circumstances. All staff were pleasant and responded promptly to our requests."

To improve: blinds are definitely not blackout, which is challenging in spring when the sun is up early, and when your window faces the parking lot with extremely bright floodlights. Unfortunately it was raining two nights and there was a dripping sound outside the window that was so loud it sounded like someone was popping microwave popcorn in the next room.
