I was very disappointed with the management and the reconstruction works at the hotel, although the staff themselves were very good and professional.
Significant construction work was taking place during our stay, including welding, external wall construction, grinding, and tiling (cutting bricks and tiles). This work was occurring within metres of the reception area, where staff were visibly covering their faces due to welding fumes and construction dust. The noise from the construction was constant, starting early in the morning and continuing until late in the evening (around 9:00 pm).
The construction had already begun prior to our arrival and was still ongoing after our departure. However, these works were not disclosed to us at any point prior to making our booking. Conversations with staff confirmed that management was aware of customer dissatisfaction, yet little to no compensation was offered. The only compensation provided was a $25 transfer out of the hotel, which was wholly inadequate given the circumstances.
There was a reasonable expectation that more appropriate compensation should have been offered, but management failed to meet basic customer service standards. As a result of this experience, I would not recommend staying at this hotel.
