Good service, nice room and very good buffet. Pleasant relaxing heritage hotel, slightly away from main tourist area of Fort Cochin (which is still easy to get to). Excellent value.

CGH Casino stay Review

Not that great. Fitness with broken machines with never maintained well machines. During the day time construction noise coming to the rooms or in other words no quietness. Surrounding areas are not maintained well.

Not impressed with the staff and service. The staff at the front desk wasn't as friendly and/or happy to be there. The hotel itself is what you expect, historic (and so was everything in it). The exterior of some of the room doors was painted and the smell was strong in our rooms since the doors at the end of the hallways were kept closed. There were several people smoking by the pool :( We ate at the Tharavadu restaurant (a couple of times) and the staff and the food were great! I eat gluten/dairy free and they were very helpful.

I needed two days to quiet time between hectic work travel to write and unwind. Casino was perfect and their staff was super, specially Uttara. One morning there was renovation the room next to mine and as soon as I brought it up, they offered to change my room, which was a nice gesture. For a solo traveler this was perfect. It was clean, safe and comfortable. It is great value for money and the pool is quite nice too. Keep up the good work.

Very Nice Stay with minor hiccups

Casino Hotel is known property in Cochin and good for people who love to stay away from the traffic and chaos of Ernakulam City. The Reception staff particularly Amrutha was very helpful. The room service kept sending orders to the wrong room on two occasions and also there was delay in serving the orders. The breakfast buffet is very good and the staff in the restaurant is very attentive and service oriented. The tall boy in the Housekeeping Staff was very helpful and did his job really well. The Day security Guard (the burly one with thick moustache) , was very friendly with us the day we arrived but as he saw that we gave the concreirage a tip and did not give him, he kept ignoring us and at times made a face to show his displeasure. The Stay , Service and the property is clean and well managed ..The rooms are a bit dated compared to the nearby Taj and Trident ...

Very happy stay

A lovely hotel with a nice pool and great restaurants. We had very comfy beds. The seafood restaurant is highly recommended - delicious fresh fish grilled and BBQ'd. Breakfast buffet is also excellent. Only downside too many big tour groups who took all the sun loungers and there weren't enough sun beds !

Nice blend of history and comfort...

Located outside the bustling city of Kochi, I enjoyed the peaceful surroundings at Wellington Island. Casino Hotel has a calming and restful feeling. The staff were friendly and efficient, the food was superb and I enjoyed the feeling of not being surrounded by yet another noisy city center.

This was our second stay at the Casino, ten days this time a week last visit. Everything was as as we remembered. The staff could not have been more helpful on any of our requests. Even an oddball inquiry about an Ayurvedic concoction the Dr. had suggested for a misbehaving tummy was greeted with a smile by Maria. All three parts started arriving in a few minutes as if they were a regular menu item. We will be returning to the Casino for our next Cochin visit.

good food clean pool less hustle pleasing people

We enjoy our large room overlooking a large eco cleaned pool- large enough to swim laps. Large bathroom with bath and shower. Free wifi. The buffet breakfast is very good with large variety of Kerala food and western dishes. The evening buffet is great too, The hotel is eco friendly. There is a lovely fragrance throughout the hotel. and is spotlessly clean inside and outside. It is known for it's seafood restaurant which is located outdoors. An adequate gym and prompt check in.This hotel is located on Willingdon Island a 10 minute 4 rupee ferry ride to either Ernakulum, Mattencherry or Fort Cochin. We stay here for the tranquility and travel for shopping, sightseeing and other interests such as having dental work and a series of Ayurveda treatments.The bed is comfortable and we are able to control the room temperature ourselves.This hotel is worthy of a higher rating than a 3.5 star.

Hotel was good, but there are hidden costs as VAT is added to everything after the advertised price, after a month in India, this was by far the most expensive place we stayed and ate, but wasnt the best.

A quiet haven in a chaotic world

After 3 weeks of average hotels and long road trips, I landed by chance at this hotel. Originally I was booked for 2 nights but kept extending it until they were fully booked. It is a wonderful hotel with all the comforts you desire plus staff that tries to make your stay a pleasure. There's a nice airy bar with a good selection, a great restaurant and ayurvedic massage. I was really sad when I had to leave. This hotel has that effect on you unlike others where you're glad to get out.
