Everyone we encountered was super helpful and courteously attentive to everything we need! Facilities were great though not the most luxurious but comfortable. They did a great job making us feel welcome!
Excellent hotel, service, attitude, food, everything at the highest level. The transportation to and from the hotel is so excellent that the receptionist called to ask if we were okay on the way after we left the hotel. I really enjoyed every minute I was there.
Stunning almost new hotel on a pristine white sand beach. Our suite was very spacious and had beautiful sea views. superb for a quite relaxing holiday.
Beautiful new resort with spectacular view of the sea. Ko Yao Yai is a small Island which is interesting and safe to explore by scooter unlike most places. This is a place to escape..especially for families with young children
Overall, an absolutely beautiful hotel with very kind people. The room was excellent and I’ve never been to a more friendly place. The only negatives would be at times The staff just didn’t understand drink orders, and there were a few meals where the service was slow and inconsistent. Again they were super friendly, but I feel a bit young and inexperienced to deal with more complicated requests. Also didn’t like that they had a yoga class every couple days, but it was $45 if you wanted to participate. I think at this price point things like that should be included. Other observation is that it is very family friendly, and me and my wife were just about the only people there without little kids. So if you are a couple looking to hang out with other couples, this may not be your spot, but if you have kids, then it should be perfect. But overall a wonderful stay with super lovely people!
I don’t usually take the time to right hotel reviews, I am a frequent traveler and have been to many fancy hotels worldwide, I can confidently say that my stay here has been the best I’ve ever had, it’s a peace of heaven on earth, if you ever want to disconnect from the chaos of life and relax, this resort is the place. Frame and her team took great care of us, housekeeping comes twice a day, we booked the lagoon pool villa and it was sparkling clean, everything was comfortable and convenient, their breakfast is great, the beach is nice and clean, the pools are spacious and calm, they have some activities everyday which I recommend checking (sunrise cycling, cooking classes, etc). It is located on an island where not much can be done, but you really don’t need to leave the resort as everything is available and the staff there is always there to make sure nothing is missing, the worst part about the hotel was leaving, we stayed for 5 days and I can say it wasn’t enough.
Excellent stay at Anantara Koh Yao Yai. The property is new (opened Oct ‘23), and brilliantly designed. We had our infant and toddler so chose a Grand Family Sea View suite, it was spacious, well equipped (even a children’s toilet!) and beautifully designed. Our toddler loved the bunk-bed with slide, and the hotel even added a few ride-on toys to play with.
Staff were friendly and helpful and the WhatsApp service was very useful for asking questions and making bookings.
Great location and well appointed rooms. Service is classic Thai who are exceptional helpful and engaging. Resport is not that old so still very much in good shape (eg decking round the pool, tiles loose in pool area etc) minor but will need to be addressed.
As we went in the off season there was low patronage - gret for us - but main restaurant (Pakarang) closed for lunch and dinner as a result. Reduces the viable options (not including pool bar/restaurant which closes approx 6) for dinner to two restaurants - not an issue generally but needs to be clearer on their website when booking. Watersports options reduced to SUP and Kayak. Agree with the no motorized stuff - but the odd hobie cat or small sailing dinghy would be good. Overall - a fantastic place
Word of warning - if you have an early departure form Phuket - the private boat to get you there with an early morning surcharge is a BIG dent on the budget
Absolutely outstanding stay – a perfect family getaway! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
From the moment we arrived, this hotel exceeded all expectations. The staff were the true highlight: warm, welcoming, and always one step ahead in making sure everything ran smoothly. Whether it was the front desk, restaurant staff, or housekeeping, every single person we met treated us with genuine kindness and professionalism. The view from the entrance was already breath-taking. The hotel is gorgeously designed, with immaculate landscaping throughout.
The breakfast buffet was phenomenal – fresh tropical fruits, eggs made to order, pastries, local specialties, and excellent coffee. We also thoroughly enjoyed the resort’s dining options, especially the Beach restaurant. Be sure not to miss the Surf and Turf Buffet Dinner.
Our room was spacious, immaculately clean, and tastefully decorated. The beds were comfortable. Our kids especially loved the spacious bunk beds and direct pool access.
The pools were a family favorite – beautifully designed with plenty of loungers and a pool bar. Everything was clean, well-maintained, and peaceful, with poolside service that was both prompt and friendly.
Just steps away was the beach, which was soft, clean, and uncrowded. The tide moved the shoreline a couple of hundred meters and it was fun to walk towards the sea at low tide.
Anantara Koh Yao Yai has the best kids’ club we’ve ever seen. There’s so much for children to do there.
I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel
From the moment we arrived at Anantara Koh Yao Yai Resort & Villas, we were transported into a world of serene luxury and natural beauty. This island retreat is the definition of tranquility, nestled between lush greenery and the crystal-clear waters of the Andaman Sea.
Arrival & Warm Welcome
We were greeted with genuine smiles, refreshing welcome drinks, and a seamless check-in experience. The team made us feel like honored guests from the very beginning, setting the tone for a stay filled with thoughtful touches and outstanding service.
Our Sea View Room – A Dream in Blue and Green
We stayed in a beautifully appointed sea view room, and waking up each morning to the panoramic vista of the ocean was truly magical. The room was spacious, impeccably clean, and designed with a perfect blend of modern comfort and Thai elegance. The balcony was our favorite spot – ideal for morning coffee or evening wine as we watched the sun melt into the horizon.
Dining Experiences
The culinary offerings were exceptional. The breakfast spread was extensive and catered to every taste – from fresh tropical fruit and local Thai delicacies to international classics. Each restaurant we dined at delivered both in flavor and ambiance, especially the seafood dishes at the beachside grill and the sunset dinners by the water.
Activities & Spa
Whether it was kayaking through mangroves, a sunset boat cruise, or simply lounging by the infinity pool, every moment felt like a postcard come to life. The An
Koh Yao Yai - is underdeveloped island still; Anantara Resort has Beautiful surroundings and a stunning facility - no doubt! the kids pool is also a fun feature
but - although the staff is friendly, the service provided by this resort does not quite meet the 5-star standards expected. for example, receiving coffee capsules took almost an hour after requesting them in the morning. additionally, the food is overpriced and not particularly noteworthy. unfortunately, the restaurant service is quite slow, with food often arriving 40 minutes after being ordered, and sometimes even cold. this can be especially problematic for families with young children. The Stuff is received directive to try and charge the guests as much as possible- and every step you do on the resort- the try to sell you something; we do not mind to consume- but it has to be done a little bit more subtle..... also - a little bit more attentions to the guests - offering an umbrella when raining ,etc......
that being said- Anatara is still great and lovely; we are sure they will be gradually improving their services also in this resort;
New property, so one can expect the good and the bad that comes with it. Best thing about the Anantara Koh Yao Yai Resort is the staff. Genuinely friendly, and really put their heart into their daily routine. Top managers from the GM to the area managers are very professional, but the rest seem very young, and new.
Only negative I found during our family's 5 days stay was there was a group (Country's Dentist Association) occasion at the resort for 3 days, and all during the entire time, most of the front desk staff, including Concierge were busy taking care of their activities which negated regular customers. For example, they took over the entire resort lobby area and made it into their meeting room for 3 days. "Lobby" was moved to the next room which very small to handle all the regular customer's requests as the lines were often long. It was little frustrating at times as they seem to have plenty of staff available but most seem busy taking care of the event for the Dentist Association.
Resort's hardware is very well managed as with most first rate resorts around the world. With particular to this resort, I'd like to think the management will sort out the early kinks that comes with first year opening "pain".
Had a chance to meet the GM, Patrick who seem to have pulse to everything going on at the resort, and I am sure He will find a way to make this a first rate resort in Phuket, and in Koh Yao Yai Island.
Beautiful scenery and hotel. We came during a rush holiday season so it seemed like staff could not keep up …tables were dirty from overnight and there was a garbage smell in main pool
We're staying for 6 nights in this wonderful resort.
We'have been perfectly hosted by our personal Villa host August, up on our arrival to the hotel pier until leaving. At any time we have a fantastic stay during these days and can highly recommand Anantara Koh Yao Yai Resort & Villas. We will be back for sure. Thanks for all.
Excellent service. Beautiful views. Clean, comfortable rooms. Would absolutely visit again.
From the second you arrive at the pier lounge to the moment you leave, every interaction is seamless and professional.
