"Had a light large room with en suite, if you want fancy then this is not for you, the couple running it are very easy to talk to and very pleasant and helpful, breakfast was good, right in the centre of town. "

"Lovely homely hotel/pub. Staff very friendly and the food was excellent. Great location for a stop on the way to Scotland as not far off of the motorway. Beautiful area."

"This property is extremely poignant as yes I yes attended the adjacent school many years ago and I always feel so attached when I return. It is without doubt a peaceful location and good standards all round. However, I wish they’d go back to offering an evening meal even at an extra charge is fine."

"There was a large car park and a lovely garden. The house is tucked away in a quiet part of Windermere but you can walk into town in 5-10 minutes. The choice at breakfast was great and the food was delicious. Very friendly and professional staff- could thoroughly recommend"

"Large hotel which although it has seen better days, is being well looked after by the current owners and was noticeably cleaner than when we were there a year ago.
The food choice was basically traditional English pub style but prepared well."
"We have stayed here quite a few times and the staff are always so helpful, professional and friendly. Everything is beautifully designed, clean and well maintained.
Our room was lovely. It was both comfortable and tasteful.
The breakfast buffet had great variety and was thoughtfully displayed and very well staffed.
We are always impressed with how smoothly everything runs at this hotel. The pride that all staff take in their work shines through at every level of this establishment :)"
"The staff were very kind and helpful, the hotel is in a nice location, a taxi or car ride from town, has a bar and you can sit outside over looking the lake with an amazing view. The hot tub in the room was so relaxing and again with lovely views. Would stay again 😁"
"What a fabulous week me and my family have had. The lakeside accommodation was perfect for us. The lodge was clean and ready for us when we arrived. The staff were friendly throughout our stay and I really liked the opt in messaging option where they messaged to keep you informed of anything happening.
The facilities on site were really good and we used them daily. Swimming baths, gym, sauna, steam room.
The food in the restaurant was really nice and the atmosphere was nice.
The watersports were a lot of fun. We did the flying disc and the paddleboarding."
"Stayed for two nights here in August 2026. Parking was included and undercover so great for a short stay to just leave it there safely. The room was ok, if not a little tired. With marks on the wall, and MDF work surfaces looking frayed. The room was comfy, excellent mattress and pillows, though in a heatwave, due to it being an old mill it was stifling hot.
A fan was available but that just moves the heat around.
Plugs were sparse, and you'll need a usb charger plug as they aren't integrated plugs yet.
Staff were fabulous, really helpful, the barman was a hoot, and so friendly with guests.
English Breakfast was fresh and hot, there was a plentiful choice of cereals, fruit and drinks too.
We ate at night in the Tannery room, burger and a small fish and chips, both were plentiful and fairly priced.
Finally it was a welcome bonus to have a swimming pool, sauna, jacuzzi and steam room available for guests to use after a full day discovering the lakes.
A really pleasant stay, the hotel rooms could do with a bit of updating, though the gym, pool, bar were fresh, but it's all a matter of cost."
"Excellent central location.
The staff were helpful especially in reception and spa.
The dining staff were efficient but less cheerful than one might expect in an establishment like this.
Breakfast was plentiful but uninspiring.
Luggage drop off was difficult due to heavy vehicles blocking the hotel entrance.
The plumbing made a loud vibrating noise for 10 minutes after each toilet flush.
The shower had excellent pressure and hot water.
The room mini fridge had the internal light hanging down and the fridge didn’t appear to work.
The hotel has old world charm and despite the small foibles mentioned above is a good accommodation option."
"First time at this lovely hotel, it was very clean and the staff were lovely, and very helpful, the pool was very welcome in the present heatwave. There was a nice choice at breakfast, all fresh local produce, would definitely return."
