Scraggly

Not the worst place but subpar. I stay in budget motels dozens of times a year, many in this region. So no illusions about what to expect at this price range. But there are far better choices in the area for less money. PROS -- Decent-sized rooms. Solid TV and channel selection. Not too noisy. CONS -- -Not very clean. I'm a single guy with not real high standards, but a half-eaten chicken still in the fridge from a previous guest? Dirty floors are typical in this price range but this was worse than most. Chipped paint and chunks out of walls in and out of the room. Cigarette butts all over the property. Scraggly bordering on scuzzy. -Missing some basics. No coffee maker in room, which is not rare, but no plastic cups or ice bucket either. "Breakfast" is predictably not much. In general, the property is not well kept up. I won't be back. Not sure I'm allowed to put this in a review but I mentioned there are much better options. Two jump right to mind: the Super 8 on Roan St in Johnson City, 20 minutes south, is so much cleaner, friendlier and just a much more pleasant place to stay. If that's too far off I-81, then just up the road in Bristol is the Arcadia Inn. Again much cleaner, well-provisioned and happier. Neither are perfect but believe me, they are much better choices. Both are almost always cheaper too. So this place is OK for a tired traveler with low expectations. But a little ways away are much better options

Don’t stay here!

We did not stay. They gave us two different rooms to look at. There were live roaches, bed bug casings on the bed, food in the fridge, dirty sheets/pillow cases and the room was filthy. The door lock was broken. Do not book this place. It looks nothing like the photos on Hotels.com.

Roches, roaches every where. Even aft,stains on beading, no bathroom door. Hired help pleasant n helpful. Breakfast coffee only. Horrible experience. My husband served all over the world. It gave him the heebie-jeebies. It was the grossest place I've ever been in my life. It was so late at night. We had no alternative but to stay here . Roach spray didn't even keep the roaches away. I don't know if hotel.com even bothers to do what they're supposed to do if this is what I found.

The front desk people were nice but the rooms have very worn furnishings. The bath towels and wash rags are dirty. The sheets on the beds were dirty - specks of dirt and stains in the room I was first assigned. I requested and received a second room which was cleaner but still run down and this second room smells of tobacco smoke. There will be no shower for me in the morning and very little sleep because of the unsanitary conditions. I sure hope I don’t get bed bugs or some kind of an itch. I was told that the only thing being offered for breakfast was maybe coffee, so no free breakfast. Met a boy and his dad who have been living in the motel for several weeks - probably at taxpayers expense. The parking lot looks like it’s a homeless camp in a couple of areas. Cheap price for a room but I see why. I will never stay at a Super 8 again. This company and this motel should be ashamed of its self. I’m embarrassed and would relocate to a better motel but I would lost the money I paid. Total waste. Very glad my wife is not here to witness this. 3rd world for sure. Wish I could get my money back.

Over the years we have stayed here and never had a major issues until this time and we will never stay again. We have always known it was an older place and for the price was never that bad and did what we needed for one night but no more. Checking in was easy other than being told that we couldnt get a second key because they were out. The parking lot was basically empty but you dont have extra keys? Then we decide to get the beds ready for when we are ready and was absolutely disgusted. The sheets had NOT been changed. Whoever had been in those beds before we DIRTY. There was dirt and hair god knows what else all in both beds. When we went to front desk they asked if everything was dirty or just the sheets and then proceeded to just give us a new set of sheets for each bed. One of the pillows was moldy. If it wasn’t so late and we had another option we would have left. (Yes I know we always have the option to leave but at this point we were just ready to sleep-or attempt to) Thankfully I bring my own pillow. The shower had not been cleaned either with hair sticking on the side of the tub. We will never stay here again. I have a video and picture and nothing was offered to rectify other than changing our own sheets

This was one of the worst places I've ever attempted to stay at!! The stinch was horrible! Room was dirty and they had ROACHES!! I went to the feont desk to checkout and said "I'm out of here, that it was infested with roaches", lady said "sorry".. thats all I got. Now I'm fighting for a refund!!

The property is undergoing "rejuvenation "....the outside is a mess with various odd jobs occuring. The front desk has no clue as to what room we were assigned to. The worse hotel experience of my life. We had two nights prepaid.. Left as soon as we could get out after the first night. The front desk could not give me a receipt because they had two different names registered in the room we were in..could not find our name in the computer. They should be closed down.

The location was great. They are also doing updates to the hotel so dont mind that. Parking is the only thing I found to be hard. Its a small parking lot besides that i wpuld say 4.5 star rating.

Ok for one night

The people at the front desk were friendly enough but I was charged wrong for the room. When I realized the mistake, they attempted to fix it but it does not look like it is fixed and is still wrong in my credit card statement. It was ok for the one night we needed it. The beds were clean and comfortable but the room itself was definitely not cleaned well. We found a bottle and 3 cigarettes behind the side table in a non smoking room. There was also dirt on the floor in the bathroom. Definitely would not recommend it as a destination but it was ok for one night.

Baseball Tourney

Needed a room for 2 nights. No other hotels within 40 miles due to massive convention. Got one of the last free rooms, found out new ownership was there the same day we checked in. He was very helpful, friendly, very appreciative of our stopping. Cleaning service was very good, very friendly. Front staff very friendly and helpful. Neighborhood not the greatest, but hotel was worth staying at. I recommend it.

The staff were very friendly and inviting. They did not have the smoking room ready for me as as requested so I had to move to another room the next day that room the knob on the sink was broken off the toilet barely flushes do you had to hold it for a long time. There were holes in the curtains and a lot of dust I made a spill on the floor and wiped it up and you would not believe how dirty the floor was so the floors have not been mopped in a while. There was a bag of trash right next to my hotel room that stayed there the three days and then it was just laid by the dumpster instead of put in the dumpster there was also another bag of trash by the dumpster but not in it
