Silks Place Taroko

"We had an amazing stay at Silks Taroko. Staff was helpful and friendly and went out of their way to ensure we had a good visit. They helped organize two vans to give us a tour of the area with one english speaking tour guide, Victor. It was an amazing, thoughtfully paced tour that the guide provided us with. Even though the area is still recovering from the earthquakes a few years back and many of the trails are still under construction, it was still well worth the visit."

"This wonderfully charming hotel has way more to offer than simply a unique architecture. The dinner (which is included in the price) is top quality European fare that would be impressive even in the finest Taipei restaurants. The nightly 'concert' is a free curated music medley played over one of the best hi-fi audio systems ever made (the vintage Focus Utopia with beryllium speakers), and smaller systems with a free classical CD library are available in the larger rooms. This is not just a hotel, it's a fully unique overnight experience."

"Breakfast was unfortunately the worst part: if you have to have a Chinese breakfast, at least make it flavorful. Again, don’t use the link to get directions, manually put the address in to get directions. Shower turns into a mini-swimming pool in the bathroom, unfortunately no heat in the room and that was kinda needed"
