The original palace was destroy by a fire in 1566 and rebuilt just in 1990. Today is an archeological museum and, inside, you can see the remain of the original wooden structure. The newer decoration is a triumph of gold, made even more bright by the light that come trough the big windows. #architecture

The tallest pagoda in Myanmar have seen several damages due to heart quakes over the years.Today are still visible some of the rests from the 1917 paya. According to the tradition, 2 of the Buddhas hair are hold inside the paya.
