Lovely hotel in a great spot, perfect start and finish to the day on the roof top, with breaky in the morning and a cold beer at the end of the day, watching the sunset. Highly recommend.

만족합니다
2층에서 잤는데 2층은 빛이 안들어와서 전체적으로 서늘한 기분이 들었습니다.
방 컨디션은 전채적으로 깨끗하고 뜨거운물이 아주 잘 나옵니다.
제 생각엔 5,6층에서 머물면 햇빛이 들어서 더 좋을 것 같아요.
조식은 간단하게 나왔지만 나쁘지는 않았습니다.
가격대비 만족한 숙소에요.

Hotel relativamente grande e com localização central. O café da manhã é bastante restrito, servido no roof top do hotel. A internet não funcionou dentro do meu quarto, ponto negativo para o hotel. Para acessar tinha que sair do quarto

This was so comfortable stay at hotel Nepalaya. Hotel owner is so nice person with positive attitude, instant and help on the spot. All the staffs were nice. Rooftop garden was the most beautiful part of hotel. Reception and Lubby area is quite big. Next beautiful part is just inside the road so peaceful and calm. Thanks for making my stay unforgettable. Will come to your place again probably next year. See you..

I stayed 3 nights by booking 3family rooms. Rooms need to be cleaned and updated. My son was bitten by mosquitoes inside the room at night and got infected and had to hospital. Staff were friendly. Overall not the same it looked while booking online. Deceivingly appeared different while I was at the property.

I am surprised that hotels.com said it's a 4 star hotel, I would say it a 1 star. Very very different then what you see in the pictures. Very dirty, there was a bug in my bed, tv and ac wasn't working properly. Even though my booking was all paid for in advance, they tried to charge me again. SIMPLE is AVOID this hotel if you can

Ok but I wouldn’t stay again
The room was a good size the bed were good. The bathroom was ok but it has two vents to the outside that let in all the polluted air in and you can’t close them. One of the vents connected to the room next door so you can hear everything. On that note the sound proofing in the room is none existent we were underneath the restaurant and it was like being in a building site. The doors and windows are paper thin so you don’t get any peace until 12-1am when the restaurant is packing up. The hotels in a good location right in the middle of the tourist district, having said that I wouldn’t stay here again. The curtains don’t block out any light and you have to keep them closed as everyone can see into your room from the hall way.

You get what you paid for!
Hotel check in was at 11 am but room wasn’t made ready until 1.10 pm and had to wait in the lobby like other guests. Very old building. Description mentions about reno but feels like it is just new wall paper only. Room door was made of thin aluminum- pretty cheap and chairs in the room have black stains and dirt all over. Bathroom is mediocre and faucet tap wasn’t working. I decided to leave to another hotel within hours even though I had paid for the night. Hard to find location. I won’t stay here again.

The hotel is located in a frightfully congested area - if you don't drive there, it could be perfect. We met a manager in the restaurant - Ramesh - who was very helpful - he went out of his way to support on many aspects of our Nepal stay - thank you Ramesh for your kind and professional manner. The lobby service was rather poor. They could definitely replace the flask in the room with a kettle and two cups!!

I highly recommend to all visitors of Nepal with middle income Hotel Nepalaya because:
1. It is excellent hotel, very clean, with friendly personnel and good services
2. It is in the heart of Kathmandu (Tamel) very close from all kind of historical places
3. It is in the heart of Kathmandu (Tamel) very close from all kind of shops and good restaurants with middle prices and good quality of the food
4. It is good hotel management who can provide for you all kind of therapy - starting from Aroma and Yoga (they have connection with fantastic school of Yoga where you can get short course of lessons or get consultation etc)
5. It's will be good choice if you need booking car on bus in middle price
6. It is fantastic hotel, because you can get not only your free breakfast at the restaurant located on the 7 floor balcony (or lunch and dinner by very loo price and good quality) but fantastic impressions - watching nice details of town, sunrise and sunset
Have nice trip to Nepal and Kathmandu it is reappy fantastic dream!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had a wonderful experience at Hotel Nepalaya. The room was clean and having AC was amazing in the heat. My favorite place was their rooftop restaurant where I watched the sun rise and was able to enjoy the busy city from above.

Top located in Thamel and close to historical sites.
Rooms are clean and comfortable with window to patio. Rooms are in renovation right now. Absolutely polite, friendly and helpful staff with good knowledge of guiding in Kathmandu City and valley.
Massage (Ajurveda, treatments, ...) and Yoga are available.

Great staff
Great hotel in Thamel, the rooms were as expected however it was the staff who really made this place great. Very welcoming from the second I walked in the door, always asking if I needed any help with anything and were helpful in providing directions and advice to find my way around Thamel. Looking forward to coming back here after some trekking to enjoy the rooftop restaurant
