"Fabulous location and a fascinating building - highly recommend the little tour that you can take to learn about the history. The pool is lovely, as is the walking in the countryside around the abbey - other than that there's not a lot to do other than soak up the atmosphere. We stayed for two dinners and one lunch. Breakfast was delicious and the dinner at the restaurant was 5 star. What a location to! The views out over land and see from the balconies (including roof top) are a show stopper in themselves but the town is also beautiful with every corner giving another wow moment of classic Sicily. "Very nice rural property - no piped music, good service, simple but well executed food (notable ricotta with lemon zest and olive oil, almond semi-freddo) as well as the usual Planeta wines. Only downside was the very poor condition of roads leading to / from property - very uncomfortable and potential for damage to your hire car unless you crawl along and around the many potholes."
