Nice hotel, decent rooms and amenities. Poor customer service. Food was late, badly cooked, raw, coffee was disgusting, and breakfast, lunch and dinner orders were wrong every time

The service was incredibly slow both in dining room and outside on patio and at the pool. The food was almost inedible. The room was clean .The staff were friendly but possibly understaffed thereby causing slow service. No management to be seen. Enjoyed the boat cruise.

NEEDS UPDATING!!!!!!!
Hotel staff was very friendly and provided great service. The rooms are large but very outdated. At night it gets very cold and the cold air seeps in through the windows because they are old and not sealed. They do not offer a tv in the bedrooms, only a tv in the sitting area. They do not offer a refrigerator or microwave in the hotel rooms, so if you bring in outside drinks then there’s no way to keep them cold and no way to heat food in your room.

Promised much, didn't deliver.
Paid a premium for the self-catering room as we were running a marathon the next day and needed to sort out our own nutrition. The room did not contain a toaster as promised and when we asked for one was brought a snackwich/sandwich maker. Also, in the morning we found out that the stove top wasn't working and by that time it was too late to do anything about it. The room was clean though which was good. The hotel does feel quite dated.
The plug on the kitchen counter didn't work so we had to boil water on the floor as that was the only reachable plug.
Mainly I feel shafted for paying a premium for a self-catering room and the appliances then either not being present or not in working order.
Our long weekend stay was excellent and the ambience on the terrace was festive although on Saturday it was full to the brim with day visitors and we had to drive to the nearest mall to have our meal as the restaurant seating only opens at 18h00. The food was excellent.
The service must be up to standard. The booking is not up standar

It a 2 Star
Except for the location and view from room it’s a very average experience. Beds were uncomfortable Refurbished rooms are tacky. Breakfast is bland with no variety and poor service.
Check-in went smooth.
Hotel room was very dissapointing. The room information stated a sofa bed, that was not a sofa bed. It was 2 chairs pulled together, I had 2 kids that slept very uncomfortable. We book for 4 people, room only had 2 towels, the WHOLE 4 days of our stay. I phoned for extra towels and NEVER received them. The carpets in the room was disgusting! Dirty and not vaccuumed! 2nd day, new towels were dirty... we were told on checking in that our room includes breakfast, we paid for every breakfast and tried to double charge us on day of check out.
This "Resort" is not family friendly, there is not much to do with kids. We drove to next town everyday to enjoy activities with them. I am very dissapointed as this place is advertised on Jacaranda daily.

Poor service
Room 408. We have booked the room for 2 days, 17 March to 19 March 2023. The room was unfortunately not clean and we reported the matter to reception. There was for instance long black hair lying around in the bathroom and on the towels. There was a big cockroach. The people at reception were very helpful and friendly and the 2nd day the room was neat and clean. The only problem was that there were no towels at all in the room from the Saturday. After reporting the problem to tel no 1300 and 1301 nothing happened. We spoke to people as late as 21h00 and 21h30 and was told that clean towels had been delivered to the hotel and will be disbursed to our room. This did NOT happen and we could not even take a shower or wash ourselves. The reality is that not only was the service poor but we have been told a lie and a promise not fulfilled. There was also no Peaceful Sleep for the mosquitos in our room, apart from the fact that the aircon was not working.
When we checked out we requested to report the matter to the Manager on duty. We were told that there was no Manager on duty and we made a list of our issues on a piece of paper provided by the reception official. We thought that the Manager would at least phone us to discuss. A weekend that we were looking forward to, turned out to be a very big disappointment.
Firstly we could not change our booking following a government lockdown change as Hotels.com could not get hold of a manager to authorise. The Wifi connectivity at the hotel was virtually non existent, if you managed to connect. The room smelt of wet carpet, and you were in undated with flies and mosquitos after opening a window to get some fresh air. Our room was rodent infested. We were transferred to another room but then there was no hot water and we had to use kettles to bath. When maintenance came the next morning, they did not wait for the door to be answered and let themselves in at 8am. We were told the hotel was closed for over a year. Dinner was a mess. Crumbed mushrooms came with sweet chilli sauce and not tartare sauce as per the menu. Ordered Cajun Kinglklip but got battered hake with cheese sauce. Because of curfew, the corrected meal had to be delivered to our room and then that came with cold veggies straight off the original plate. A lemon meringue "pie" ordered the next day was a tartlet and came with chocolate mousse as the restaurant had no ice cream and whipped cream would take "too long". The last morning housekeeping arrived at 8:30. The tv reception in the room was bad on most channels and they were limited to start with. When asked for something for compensation for the inconvenience (not a cheap hotel) we were offered a dinner but owing to previous experience we had made alternate arrangements. We were told sorry, there is nothing else they can do.
Reception immer überfordert
Da mein Frühstück nicht im Preis war muste ich es nicht wie gewohnt am ende beim Check out zahlen nein jeden Tag

Hotel is a 2 star rating not a 4 star. Most TV channels are blocked. Unfortunately it rained the whole weekend of my stay and there was absolutely nothing to do but watch TV. No tissues, shower caps ,shampoos or any sanitizer in rooms. They do not supply them. Room service cost R50 a tray charge, shocking. Late checkout costs R500 for even a half hour. Hotel policies not friendly at all. Need to review them seriously. Very 😔 sad.
I had the best weekend of my life, the staff the service and everything was good i won't mind coming back anytime soon

Honeymoon Turndown
This booking was for a wedding night. The room was dissapointing, old and not well maintained. Definately not a honeymoon suite although the extra fees was paid for the honeymoon turndown. The view was good and breakfast OK. The booking process was frustrating to receive final confirmation with turndown included.
