"Our stay was really peaceful. The location is ~2miles off of the main highway on gravel & we had a view of one of the larger waterfalls in the distance. Beds were comfortable. Pull out sofa was ok. Everything worked. Our sm 1 BR was well appointed. We stayed 2nts w/no issues. fyi: Hot water is not geothermal so there is a limit to the hot water usage. Check in was a breeze and there were ports to plug in an electric vehicle. "

"Very nice cottage. Clean and we enjoyed our night there. A bit pricey for my taste but it met our needs. The check in process is weird. You have to drive to a completely different location to check in and then drive to the cottage with the code to get the key to get into the cottage. Not sure why they made it more difficult than it has to be. Otherwise everything else was fine."

"Anything this location lacks in luxury is made up for in the solitude and peacefulness of the property. The Private hot tub overlooking a horse and sheep pasture was a great addition. Visually isolated from the road and from all other nearby properties. About 10km outside of town gets you away from the other tourists. "Askot Cottages are beyond phenomenal! Our best stay in Iceland. The cottage design is thoughtful and purposeful. Every little detail adds to the comfort and experience for the guest. The instructions are presented in a beautifully designed booklet that was clear and complete. All the amenities were stocked and high quality. I wish every place I stayed could be this perfect! "Terrific stay, and a wonderful home base for a couple of nights within the Golden Circle area. We loved being based here and then being able to go out in the evening to visit sites like Gullfoss and the Geysir area (just 45 mins away) when they were not crowded. The place itself is modern, spacious, and very well kept. Loved the outdoor grill, hot tub, and comfortable beds. In our view, this was far better than staying at a hotel."

"Cottage is located close to commercial/industrial area and a golf course. Nice view. Stayed there for one night, 4 persons (3 adults and a teenager), which worked quite well. There's a grocery story, pharmacy, manned gas station and Thai restaurant/take out place within a couple of kilometers. Clean, new, well-kept cottage, but not super large - it worked really well for a one night stay and could have worked for a night or two more, but not for a longer stay. "Vi havde et dejlig ophold i den hyggelige, store hytte #1. Den lidt ældre hytte havde sin helt egen charme og var meget pæn og rengjordt ved ankomst. Børnene elskede den store hems hvor de sov og kunne se ned til det store køkken/alrum. Selve køkkenet var godt indrettet med stort køleskab, 4 kogeplader, ovn og vask. "I loved this cottage and was so sad to leave! I have never stayed at such a comfortable and cozy place. We arrived late at night and it was such a breath of fresh air walking into the cottage. Everything was just perfect. The beds and bedding were so comfortable. We were close to the golden circle and south coast so a slow exploration of the area was possible. "

Hard to sleep, noisy but room is clean & new

"Decor of the room is sleek, new design, no aircond, need to open up window for cold air to come in. The problems are in between walls no soundproof. I could hear my upstairs running jumping after 11pm. My next wall tv noise, other side wall talkg. At 1am +, i was awaken by noises chasing northern lights outside my windows."

Convenient, behind a bus stop, daily tour pick up

"Nice hotel fronting hugh lake, snow mountain. 24/7 reception. The front desk reception is helpful and friendly. Bus station is just behind the hotel. One of hotel stop pickup for daily bus tour which is so convenient. Very highspeed wifi. Occasionally heard some light reno construction noise. At night, is quiet and windy. Just feel safe. "
