"The property was breathtakingly beautiful. We were greeted by smiling staff with a glass of champagne to be shown around the main house. Our room was just steps from the lobby and dining areas which was convenient, however, we did have to keep the blinds drawn most of the time as all our windows (including the bathroom) faced the front parking lot. "This is not the best hotel I've stayed, but it IS the best in this price range. Super nice reception, and the room was spartan but very clean and correct. I stayed here as a pause in the middle of a long trip, and slept great. Also, there's a remarkable, higher-end restaurant nearby, Vault & Cellar, which was a welcome break from the drive. I'll stay here every time I make this trip. "

"This is a convenient place to stop off if you've been visiting the Blue Ridge Mountains and Shenandoah National Park. It's out of town slightly, so you would have to drive if you were looking for somewhere else to eat. The restaurant was an unremarkable diner with average food - definitely not a destination - but the staff were friendly. "
