Idyllic tropical island - close-to-nature feeling

We had a lovely tranquil stay, feeling very well looked after by the friendly staff. The island is idyllic and the accommodation is comfortable with excellent Aircon and fan in the bedroom. The food in the buffet was varied, fresh and delicious and the bar served excellent cocktails. The home reef is vibrant and perfect for snorkelling round. The dive centre gave my husband a great refresher course and good diving opportunities afterwards. Royal Island provides an altogether lovely, relaxing close-to-nature experience!

Top class vacation Royal Island Resort & Spa

We really enjoy our stay at the Royal Island Resort & Spa. The villas had a high standard including the cleaning service twice a day, thanks to Nor for a good job especially warm welcoming & reunion-wish infront of our leaving. We had a Sunset villa and the view was really amacing. Every morning there were staff cleaning of the Island and beaches after the nights weather! The waiter at the resturant were professional & made us feel special welcomed every single time, special thanks for your service Habib & the hostess Lakhsii. The food at the resturant, the fresh fruit & all delicious were absolute top class.

The privacy on the beach, the views were stunning, the marine life was fabulous. The staff were extremely helpful and attentive. Our Villa was a little tired. The beds were rock hard and dips in the mattresses. Many tiles in the bathroom had cracks. The wooden floor was tired. Overall though a fabulous resort.

Lovely place with a beautiful beach, lots of lush green, a nice pool and good facilities. The food is great! I’m vegan and was satisfied with the options. The spa looks not only beautiful, but the massage was great. Thank you, staff. Noble, he is so involved 🙏 But also the restaurant staff: kind and interested. The cabin was good. Outdoor shower, which I loved, could use a little update. The bed was horrible, though…hard.

Beautiful Island, but lower your expectations

The island is beautiful, but we had the feeling of small minded management the whole time. Just small details everywhere that could have elevated the experience 100%. Two big details worth to mention are: 1) we had 5 days holiday but the island is so far and the transportations was not planned optimally, so we wasted 2 days on getting in and out of the island, just waiting... 2) There were many mosquitos and the island staff kept on fogging the dorms areas EVERYDAY and the smell was so strong we woke up with the taste of the repellent on our mouths every day.... The food was good and with enough variety that we never got bored of it. The staff is kind and prone to service.

Royal Island is a paradise! This was our first time to the Maldives and didn't know what to expect. The service was top notch from the time we stepped foot on the island. Staff were available to check in all groups arriving on the boat at the same time, so there was no waiting. We were set up with a contact via WhatsApp (Mark) and he kept us up to date with what was going on at the island each day and was available to address all of our questions. The food at the buffet was good and each dinner had a different theme keeping it interesting. Our server Naseer was friendly and efficient. Finally the setting! The island is beautiful! The clearest water outside of a pool I have ever swam in. We were at the west end of the island and there was easy access to snorkelling in the lagoon. There is some damage to the reef, but we still saw so many fish, rays and a shark. We also enjoyed the Wanderlust and Hanifaru Bay snorkelling excursions. The transfers were well planned (don't panic about not having the details until the day before). And bonus, because we had a late departure they gave us late check-out without an extra charge. Overall a fabulous experience. Highly recommend.

Great place to stay, just perfect. Accommodation well maintained, good food and excellent, friendly staff. The island and sealife is like paradise. We were in many places around the globe, but this is really a great place to enjoy holidays. Hope to come back again !

Still dreaming about our time at Royal Island — it was more than just a holiday, it was an experience to remember. If I ever come to the Maldives again, the only place I’ll stay is Royal Island Hotel. The nature is breathtaking, the beaches are stunning, and the cleanliness of the resort is top-notch. The hospitality of the staff is truly exceptional. A special thanks to Murali, who never missed a single special request of ours during meals. At the amazing spa, Radhika’s magical hands and the quality of the products made every massage unforgettable. And dear Noble — we’re so grateful for his sincere care, constant support, and kindness throughout our stay. Honestly, everyone needs a Noble in their life!

Excellent Resort

The Royal Island Resort & Spa provides splendid beachfront just outside your villa style room. I very much enjoyed my walks along the beach surrounding the island and breathtaking views of the sunset. Snorkeling on site was wonderful, especially around the service jetty pier and the reef areas that surround the island. Royal Island Resort & Spa also provides excellent indoor recreational facilities including table tennis, badmington, racquetball & squash.... especially useful on a rainy day.
