"One of the worst hospitality service ever. Won't get a towel, bedsheet or toiletries. No cleanliness and smelly dusty rooms. No room service. Swimming pool with decayed leaves and house full of mosquitoes. Broken room locks and the bonus is you won't get water in toilet. Needless to say a poor management by owner and totally irresponsible behaviour. Please don't waste your money by looking at beautiful pics of the villa. Save your money for better stay. "I truly enjoyed my stay here. I loved the historical significance of this hotel. I rated it exceptionally well because one must understand that the hotel is over 175 years old. Sri Lanka has to recognize the importance of preserving this historical part of town. So much potential in these golden age buildings "

"Had a comfortable and luxurious stay here for our first three nights in Sri Lanka. Travelled in June which is off season / monsoonal however we barely saw any rain - sunbaked by the pool most days and was very relaxing to travel in the quiet season - at times had the whole pool and grounds to ourself. Buffet breakfast was incredible and had soooo many options. Grounds were beautifully maintained and the gym was perfect too"
