Lakes Hotel and Spa

10/10 Excellent

"We spent 2 nights at the Lake Hotel, we were very pleased with the location and staff. From approaching the barrier to drive in we had our first happy experience and laugh with the lovely lady in the gatehouse. Andy showed us around the hotel, a really nice bloke. Our room was beyond our expectations and we were so pleased with the view too. It was a Superior Standard Room. We drank on the terrace, great views, comfy chairs. Swam in the spa pool with jacuzzi too. Clean changing rooms with lockers. Ate breakfast, a buffet that had lots of choice, well stocked. The breakfast staff made you feel welcome. A special note that Francisco was friendly and chatty. We also had Gluten Free toast with no trouble. A lovely hotel in a great location, easy to get to the pier at the lake for boat trips. Also a Bentley, with a chauffeur, was available for short trips out."

"Great location Very good staff. The Winander section has its own very helpful staff and breakfast with great views. The room we had was a very spacious and well designed. My only comment was a shaving mirror would have been useful given the distance to the actual mirror. The spa access for hotel Guests was somewhat more limited than expected and the outdoor areas were completely separate and require extra payment. What is left in the swimming pool area is a little bit more limited than similar properties in the area we have tried."

"Great location real old style hotel in beautiful grounds very very clean loverly staff friendly and helpful breakfast is a buffet with cereals,pastrys,fresh fruit,yogurt and cooked breakfast which is very good quality and cooked to a high standard you also get tea,coffee and fresh orange juice and tomato juice we would highly recommend this hotel to friends and family"

Lake District Castle Inn hotel & Spa

"Lovely place, clean, some maintenance happening, but didn't disturb our 5 days. Breakfast had plenty choices including Eggs Benedict or Eggs Royale, restaurant, lovely food. Staff very friendly and helpful. 20min drive from Keswick, which was handy for more restauarants, bars and the boat trip was brilliant. Tennis Court, mini golf a bonus on-site and swimming pool was good size and good to cool down as weather was hot for our trip. Being Scottish, it would be nice to have bar open a bit later,overall stay was excellent, definitely would visit again."
