Beautiful lodge with incredibly hospitable staff
We were looking to spend 2 days in Dahlonega, and didn’t have much of an idea of what our trip would entail besides visiting the wineries recommended our friends. Last minute, I booked our stay at the Mountain Top Lodge without knowing a whole lot about its accommodations.
We could not have had a more positive experience. While on our way from Atlanta, we called the Lodge and Paul (owner) answered the phone. He told us all about the different vineyards, what options we had (since we were arriving close to 5 PM on a Saturday, which is when a lot of them close for the evening), and gave us several recommendations. We decided to stop at a winery on our way in, rather than heading directly to the Lodge first. Paul’s hospitality and genuineness were put on display before we even arrived, as he called me to make sure that we hadn’t gotten lost on our way, since it had been over an hour since our prior conversation.
Upon our arrival, Paul greeted us, showed us the amenities that they offer, and then showed us to our room. The room was beautifully decorated — classic with a mountain-like, elegant feel. Late in the evening (~11 PM), we had locked ourselves out of our room, & Paul gladly assisted us once more without any hesitation or frustration whatsoever.
The next morning, Paul cooked us a wonderful breakfast and we spent a while talking about our backgrounds, interests, etc. He truly makes an effort to get to know his guests.
I recommend this property unequivocally.
