"The entry to the bed and breakfast was through the owner's residence. The state of the entry probably should have given a clue about the cleanliness of the rooms. The floors in the hallway looked as though they hadn't seen a vacuum in a year. Layers of dust on the furniture in the room, and floors that were not cleaned prior to my arrival. The shared bathroom hadn't been cleaned and the shower curtain was covered in pink mold. An old used facecloth hung inside the shower. I made this reservation...

"The location was convenient for our needs. It was quiet. The listing did not let you know that you had to leave your room for your “private “ bath. The listing stated there was air conditioning, there was a fan. Wayne was friendly and personable."

"The best way to describe this hotel. It’s a vintage hotel with a really nice vibe. Has an outdoor pool. Has an indoor pool as well that is heated. a really big fitness center with a couple TVs. Sometimes the lobby temperature could be off heck no big deal. I’ll come here every year. Pool outside is on pomperaug river overlooking the golf course. Plenty of parking. Restaurant onsite with great drinks and bar menu. TVs. Closes at 900/930pm"

"This is a gem of a place. I have stayed at the abner many times and am delighted to say it is always a treat. The hotel is warm charming sparkling clean and perfectly located with shopping and dining just outside your doors. The rooms are comfortably appointed with all the extras of a posh stay . The breakfast is a must and don’t skip the frittata. Dinner is a cozy culinary experience with an ample menu to cover many tastes but dine exquisitely. If open do not miss out on the rooftop lounge...

"The rooms were nice and clean, the AC worked great. The beds are a little hard but comfortable enough, the breakfast was nice and hot but the pool was cold… the kids didn’t care though they had a blast. The staff were all very nice and helpful. Over all great stay for families."

"As I told the desk clerk at checkout, Our toom had a funky oder, it smelled like feet. I bought a can of Lysol and sprayed the carpets and the a/c unit every time we left the room, to no avail. It still stunk. Also, I know I was there over the weekend, but the carpets in the 1st floor hall still had little circular beads all over it. The landing on the 1st floor of the fire exit stairs had a lot of crumbs all over it. I've stayed there several times and never had these problems before. The...

"This recently remodeled motel was completely charming. We had a room accessible directly from the parking lot, and it was decorated beautifully. The nautical theme extended throughout. The bathroom was large, beautifully tiled, and perfectly functional. Towels were changed daily. The bed and pillows were very comfortable with nice cotton sheets. We would stay there again."

"It does not seem there are Kings beds despite advertising/offering of such. Room has a full and a twin and no, they cannot be pushed together. The entire room is tiny. I mean tiny. My bf knees touched shower curtain when sitting on toilet and could not shut door-tiny. We did not attempt to use shower because so small. That being said, it satisfies what we needed it for-it was inexpensive as rates go, it was clean, the AC worked well as did the tv. Honestly I’d give 2.5."
