"If you’re looking for a unique and surprisingly charming place to stay near Death Valley, this hotel and casino is a hidden gem. We only stayed one night, and at first I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. It definitely has a different vibe—but that ended up being part of the fun.
One of the biggest surprises was the unexpected amenities. There’s a small petting zoo with water buffalo, donkeys, and sheep, which you definitely don’t see every day at a hotel. Out back, there’s also a beautiful pond with geese and ducks that makes for a peaceful stroll. It gave the property a quirky, welcoming character that really grew on me.
Inside, there’s a good restaurant serving comforting, satisfying food, and even a small grocery store, which is incredibly convenient—especially if you’re heading into Death Valley and want to grab snacks or supplies.
The staff were friendly and helpful, and overall the experience felt warm and easygoing. If you want to stay outside of Death Valley National Park without paying the high prices of lodging inside the park, this is a great option. It truly feels like a gateway to the park—and a pleasant surprise all around."
