"Very clean and well maintained."

"Worst booking ever. No, I repeat, no hotel staff....anywhere. The front door to the hotel was unlocked. The restaurant was locked. The bar was locked. Our key was put in the room door. No air con, No bathroom in the room. Small room - about 3 meters square. Just a bed. No table (or room) for even one piece of luggage. Absolutely ridiculous. One public area toilet did not flush. "Over all good stay"

"Nice place to stay."

"I had a wonderful stay at Pen-y-bryn Lodge. The property is a beautiful historic building with a peaceful atmosphere, and the room was spacious, spotless, and full of character. The hosts were extremely friendly and welcoming, making the stay feel warm and personal. Overall, a fantastic experience — I would highly recommend this lodge to anyone visiting Oamaru."

"Very outdated and run down"

"Nice place to stay."

"Really nice property and well taken care of . The staff were super nice and help. It's a great location."

"This was an absolutely delightful place to stay. Spectaculary renovated property with a completely unique, fabulous style. Every comfort considered, breakfasts that were beyond, and pastry chef treats with your evening tea. Katrina and Brenda are warm, gracious hosts who make you feel like welcome friends. We are so happy we were able to enjoy their outstanding hospitality and excellent tips for what to do in the area. A total delight!"
