"Grounds are beautiful. Amazing view. Pool, jacuzzi, fire pit. Benches across the way to sit and enjoy thw ocean. Had a breath taking view of the moon rising above the ocean. Room was spacious and clean. Bed was super comfortable. Plenty of parking right by the room. Overall a lovely stay."

"This property was beautiful. It was quiet and clean. I do believe it is more a bed and breakfast than a legitimate hotel. The staff, specifically Deb and Julie were fabulous. They were friendly, helpful, and very welcoming. They truly did everything they could to make our stay great. The few complaints I did have were due to my own misunderstanding of the property description and issues outside of the staff's control, like the couch in our room being ridiculously uncomfortable. "Very cool historic hotel set the perfect vibe for an authentic Salem experience. The room was more spacious than expected, bed was comfortable, and room was quiet. We had one of the rooms where the shower was a separate room from the rest of the bathroom, which was interesting (see photos). Shower was nice and roomy, though. We didn’t try the restaurants. We had planned to do dinner at Nathanial’s, but it was closed the night of our stay. If I return to Salem, I would stay here again."

"I had a great stay at the Merchant. While walking through the beautiful hotel and the George Washington room where I slept, I couldn’t help but wonder if the place is haunted. It’s old and modern. Staff were friendly. Parking lot is right around the corner. I had the best shower there in my life. The water felt so good. Thinking of returning sometime in the future. "

"We had a wonderful time at the Breakers hotel. The room was super clean and convenient to the beach. Everyone at the front desk was super helpful and gave us some great advice on what to eat locally. The air conditioner worked wonderfully. I’m very happy that they have a refrigerator there and a microwave oven. I think this is the cleanest hotel. I’ve stayed at when I’ve been to the Hampton Beach."
