Traveling family of 4 in town for softball tournament. Workers were all outside under a tree smoking. Had to wait for them to finish their smoke break to get checked in. Walls inside unit were dingy, old furniture that had drawers coming off hinges. Bath tub and paint chips all over wall. Window wasnt securely locked. Chain lock on door was rusted out. Pool had so much chlorine in it i had to medically treat my family with red eye. Upon check out the clerk who inspected the room was on video call with gm whom denied our deposit because of "damaged property." The "damage" claimed was from ketchup on bedsheets and eye block on wash cloths. We explained to the clerk and the gm what the marks were from but they continued claiming "damaged property." There is no kitchenette nor bar area to eat on so we allowed the kids to eat on the bed. Nowhere in their agreement does it state that any markings on sheet or towels are considered against contract. Only thing stated was "no smoking." As a travelball family having traveled for many years and visited numerous hotels, we have NEVER had our deposit denied. We respect other people's property and we raise our kids to do so also. For the general manager to be on video call and make the assessment and decision to deny our deposit was unprofessional. Id advise anyone to wash your sheets and towels before checkout or theyll deny your deposit. Youd think their commercial washers and dryers would wash markings away. Thats if they change linens.
