Appreciated their quick responsiveness in a question regarding check in yet they have no phone number listed on their site so was a but difficult to get a hold of them. Accommodations were a bit outdated and had a slight must/smoke smell yet beds were comfortable and thankful for the hot shower and the location and view were wonderful. Note, the showers are downstairs and 1 toilet upstairs.

Cute town, terrible service

We stayed here for one night on an extended trip. We arrived after hours, but made sure to contact the hotel to get after-hours check-in instructions. The instructions we received were very vague and not helpful. There was confusion on what building we were staying in - the reservation was under Grund guesthouse. However, when we arrived, this building was “closed” as indicated with a sign on the door. There was a person inside this building who only spoke polish and was unable to provide instructions. A family who arrived at a similar time also had difficulty with check in and went to the wrong building as well. We called the after hours help line - the lady was rude and short with us. She first stated we had the wrong room and instructed us to try different rooms on the property (which resulted in us walking in on a family). After several phone calls, we finally found the correct building and room number. The building and accommodations were nice. However, all the rooms open into the kitchen and eating area which resulted in an unintentional 6am wake-up call. The entire experience was very frustrating.

Magical Northern Lights View!

Amazing stay! Host was a little late in checking us in so she was gracious enough to upgrade us. The room was amazing and had a Kirkjufell/Northern Lights view, magical!

Great Grund!

They guess house was kept very clean. All the rooms had private bathrooms, the facility had been newly remodeled so the original pictures on hotels.com did not match. The floors are heated. It was a very nice stay, we ended up adding an extra night.

Great view from our window. Spacious room. Full shared kitchen in the guesthouse. 2 showers with bathrooms downstairs and 1 additional bathroom with no shower upstairs. Private bathrooms would have been preferred, but the bathrooms were very clean. No problems. Did not see any staff. Key left in entryway with name next to it.

Very nice and professional

The Grund Guesthouse is great. The rooms are spacious and the beds are comfortable. Rooms, bathrooms and kitchen are clean. There are two showers for 6 rooms, but we stayed two nights and every time I entered the bathroom, is looked as if it was cleaned just before. Kitchen is well equiped and they have complementary tea and coffee.

Really enjoyed my 2-night stay. My room was small but the owner had told me in advance. Good kitchen and bathroom facilities (shared bathrooms are all separate rooms and very clean). View of the mountain across the bay was lovely.
