Before booking this cottage, there are a few important points to consider to avoid frustration or disappointment.
First, most mobile carriers have no signal in the area. The cottage does not receive any Wi-Fi, and although the property guide mentioned paid Wi-Fi, we were unable to connect at all. There was a phone number provided, but we couldn’t call due to lack of signal. The only places with working Wi-Fi were the Welcome Center and the laundry room.
There was no hairdryer in the cottage. Also, the refrigerator didn’t work well. The freezer, even at its coldest setting, was only as cold as a typical fridge. We tried to freeze water in an ice tray for two nights, but it remained liquid the entire time.
We arrived at around 8:40 PM on the check-in day, but the Welcome Center was already closed, although it was supposed to be open until 9:00 PM. Keys and instructions were left in separate racks outside, and they weren’t clearly labeled. The instruction sheet had our name, but the key envelope had no identification. It took some guesswork to find the right one.
The check-out process outside business hours was also confusing. A sign on the Welcome Center door pointed to a drop-off area, but the actual key box wasn’t labeled. It was inside a box marked only as “Call Box,” which we had to open to discover where to leave the key.
