Despite the COVID-19 restrictions and difficulties that comes with it, Belhurst castle was so pleasant. We had dinner at both restaurants. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and was very beautiful. The breakfast was wonderful for what they could do. We also spent time in the gift shop and the staff was very well versed and gave advice when asked. We will definitely be staying here again.

Dirty room! So Disappointed!!

We were so excited to stay at the castle. Cleanliness is everything when I book a place. This room was terrible! Brown stain on the very old, white, chenille bedspread. A used washcloth hanging on the shower rod. Dust under the bed. I had to go under there to find a plug for my phone so I could see the time. A surge protector hanging off an old dresser. 1980‘S leftover furniture. The room just felt dirty. I don’t mind old and have stayed in many historic hotels. We actually seek them out for their charm. Old and dirty isn’t the same as old and charming and well maintained. Our view out our window was of the roof and AC units. For the money we spent for a night it should have been a better experience. We were going to stay longer originally, so glad we didn’t!! Left and spent two nights in another historic hotel that was gorgeous and well kept!!

Wasnt absolutely horrible. Oir check-in was a half hour late. There was someones dirty sock left in the corner of our room and dinner was ok.

The main hotel looked very elegant and well maintained. However, the particular room we had, called the Carriage House, was a separate building and was not well maintained. We expected it to be a separate building from the online room description but assumed that it would be maintained with the same standards as the main building. The room was not clean, lots of bugs on the ceiling, broken tile in the bathroom and a very old mattress. Also, the door to a utility closet was broken.

Enjoyable stay at a castle. Very unique setting central to many attractions in the area. Friendly staff. Rooms were a bit oddly configured but this is to be expected from a real castle setting. A great overnight experience and right on the water for a nice morning stroll.

We had a wonderful stay at the Castle. We were a little disappointed at check-in that there was no breakfast included as was stated online when the reservations were made. Covid was the reason and that is understandable, but then change your offerings through services such as Expedia. It was our anniversary weekend and dinner at Edgar's was perfect. Our server Mike was great, his timing of our dinner was right on, and the food was delicious.

Very Disappointed!!

We were disappointed, the room seem dingy not dirty. For the price they charge I thought the accommodations would be nicer. Did not offer any type of breakfast in the morning had to find a place in town. for the price of the room you think they would've had the dining room open for breakfast. Needed extra towels could not find anyone at the front desk to ask.

A Pleasant Stay at the Dwyer House!

We stayed in the Dwyer house, a little tract ranch immediately adjacent to the Belhurst property. The home was perfectly spotless and that is critically important to me. I wish they had done a nicer job updating it for today’s current hospitality market. The furnishings were a mish-mash of modern hotel furnishings, 1990s leftovers and grandmas house styles. The outlets and switchgear should all be replaced. They should have outdoor seating. All in all still a wonderful experience, but for the price, I expect a more cohesive and “better” ambiance.

Nice, quiet setting with well kept grounds and scenic view of Seneca Lake. Clean comfortable room. Very private.The only thing: a loud, rattling air conditioner ran all night, disrupting sleep.That shouldn't occur given the price. Probably wouldn't stay there again.

My husband and I were very disappointed with our stay. The rooms were very out dated with deco from the 80's. Mot troubling of all was the lack of service we received during our visit, most notably from the front desk. If you're paying $340 a night you expect an elevated level of service and better accommodations. Sunday morning looking for a black coffee and guess what not available at all...C'mon, it's an hotel not a B&F. The only thing good was the views and grounds. Would not stay here again, just stop by for drinks.

Worth the trip

Just what I thought it would be friendly service. Beautiful surroundings food was excellent in both restaurants. Fire pit outside stonecutters is a great place to meet other or just chat with the ones you came with. Fireplace in room are wonderful.

The only thing going for this hotel is the building and grounds. Pictures are very deceiving. Housekeeping is disgusting. The hotel manager Mackey has an aloft attitude. I had to tell him to smile because he is in the hospitality industry. My sink was clogged and they lied I refused to have it fixhed/ Total lie. The food is disgusting and asking for prices are crazy. You been warned. DO NOT STAY HERE! You will thank me.

The property was not maintained and was very under par for the price. Rooms were very outdated and furnishing tired and dated. I’ve stayed in older hotels that were much better up kept than this one.
