The location of the property was really great - we could walk to everything we wanted to see. Unfortunately we had to park a few blocks away from the hotel but that was really the only downside. The room was very spacious and the front desk staff was very nice and helpful.

Great hotel. Right near so many restaurants, stores, markets, and bowling. The hotel’s breakfast buffet was absolutely amazing. My husband is a vegetarian and they had fruit, vegetables, tons of varieties of granola and breads. It was the perfect start to our day!

Amazing!

A completely lovely stay in every way! The rooms are beautiful, and sparkling clean. The hotel feels luxurious and the staff is so super friendly and helpful in every way. The breakfast was absolutely amazing and the hostesses a wonder of kindness and service. We are so happy with our stay and can’t praise it enough.

Parking was full so despite being disabled we had to unload at the door and park offsite at extra cost. Pet rooms weren’t available but we were given a room on the top floor. We had a small balcony so were able to leave that open to keep room cool. We had a fridge, good beds and pillows.

Summer at Scandic City Hotel

We were comfortable during our stay at Scandic City Hotel in Fredrikstad. The hotel was clean. Our room was large enough. Clean sheets and towels. And we were provided with a small refrigerator to store our food/drinks. This is a plus! However, parking located around 300 meters from the hotel was quiet expensive.

Friendly staff, good location however quite a lot of street noice when we get a room toward Nygaten. Room was quite small and it was difficult to get around the bed to the one side (30cm) . But the reason for relatively poor rating was that the bathroom was extremely small. It was not possible for s person of normal height to sit straight at the toilet. Very good breakfast though

The staff was great. The communication when booking online was not current. They only had 8 parking spots, so we had to park away and pay additional amount of over $100 CDN for one overnighter. I had to download another app to do this. Apparently I had not pre-booked a parking spot. I remember setting my filter for parking when setting up the room. Tbe hotel also failed to mention they were going thru renovations so there was scaffolding all around the building and early morning workers banging around. Their saving factor was an excellent breakfast buffet - of course you pay extra for this as well. I had no issues with staff. The room was clean and spacious, however there was a low humming of some air exchanger or similar running all night which I found irritating, so I didn't sleep well. Maybe I am just ready for my own bed.
