"The home is clean and comfortable. The host was lovely. There are no amenities (no breakfast) and the walk to town is considerable (and a rather large hill!). But, it was an excellent place to lay our weary heads. Check in and checkout were simple. "

"My second stay at Hotel Killarney, and it feels like my home-away-from-home in Killarney. Fantastic staff, huge and nice rooms, great pool and exercise facilities, nice dining and restaurant options, big and good buffet breakfast included, lots of free parking on site. The only downside is that it is about a 30 minute walk to downtown Killarney and there's no shuttle option. But, to be fair, AFAIK, no other hotels runs shuttles to downtown Killarney, and the city doesn’t have any public transport either."
"absolutely stunning property! the pool was out of this world! there was a slight issue with the AC, but the manager addressed it with me personally and gave me a discount! i was not expecting that and genuinely appreciated it!!! thank you Filip! i will definitely be back. they had excellent recommendations as well. i had the Dough Bros pizza in Galway based on Filips recommendation and it was amazing!!! above and beyond service here, well worth the price and such cool things to see including the Torc waterfall was literally 5 minute drive away. "We were so excited for our stay here and it was a great experience start to finish! By far the nicest hotel we stayed at during our road trip around Ireland. The room with the lake view was absolutely incredible. This is a great location for visiting Killarney (very easy to drive to if you have a rental car). Even walking around the grounds is beautiful. It was relaxing & scenic.
Our service at the bar at the end of the night was sub-par (slow service + a lot of dirty tables not being cleaned off). The breakfast included was top notch - high quality & great offerings - don't miss breakfast!
For US-based travelers though I would caution the 5-star rating as it is a bit different than a 5 star US hotel. It was still clean & very nice with upgraded amenities vs other hotels we stayed at in Ireland, but it a bit dated."
