Buildings in the jewish quarter in Fes, one of the three parts of Fes in Morocco

Detail of the jewish quarter in Fes, Morocco
One of the oldest in Morocco. I was struck by the section (not shown here) where 500 children were buried in unmarked graves, most of them dating from the 1930s-40s. I learned later that there were both malaria and cholera epidemics that crossed North Africa during that time, and wondered if that was a contributing factor.

Great gym, room was dated, curtains didn't work, and there was sitting water on the balcony that made the smell terrible. The fragrance they pump in the lobby is extremely overpowering, if have to hold my breath or I would sneeze. Breakfast was great and staff we very nice!

Great experience overall. I just wished that the thermal pool is included in the Expedia price, but it’s not. We had to pay extra to use the thermal pool. Other than that, everything in the hotel is perfect.

An iconic sight for sure, the tanneries of Fes was absolutely interesting to take in. As well as the smell, which wasn't as bad as I anticipated - and they gave us a bundle of mint to smell if it got too bad. :)

Here you can see all the different colors of leather dyed...and dried...and here you will find the biggest selections and best prices for leather products at the surrounding leather shops that have a veranda to see the men at work below.

Yes, yes I did acquire a bag while I was there - and it has Berber carpet on it too - double score! :)
