"This place is very welcoming and efficient. The staff can't do enough for you. The food is excellent, but unfortunately, we were only able to eat there on our first night. We wanted to do so again, but they don't cook on Bank Holidays. We weren't told this in advance, which is the only slight negative about our stay. . "

"If you like old and quirky then this place is ideal! Yes it’s a little tired and could do with a little tlc in places but the bed was comfortable (which for me is a huge plus). It’s in a very convenient location for walking around town. Plenty of cafes etc nearby as well as Sainsbury’s and Co-Op. "

"Very good for one or two night stay. It is primarily a restaurant which happens to have a few rooms. Food at dinner was amazing and cooked to order, local produce used too. Very friendly welcoming staff. Breakfast basic. Rooms recently nicely refurbished, room 3 better and bigger than room 5. This is not 5* accommodation but adequate and ok for couple of nights. We will stay again because bars and staff splendid. "
